摘要: A lunar rover includes a lunar rover body, at least one wheel coupled with the lunar rover body, a drive module coupled with the at least one wheel, the drive module configured to drive rotation of the at least one wheel over a surface, an extension arm coupled to the lunar rover body, an emitter array coupled to the extension arm, and a controller electrically connected with the emitter array. The controller is configured to control the emitter array to emit at least one of laser electromagnetic waves or maser electromagnetic waves towards the surface to sinter lunar regolith particles on the surface.

摘要: A method for welding components includes the following steps: providing a first component and a second component; bringing together the two components; welding the two components by use of a laser beam, wherein a plurality of welding impulses are generated through the repeated activation and deactivation of the laser beam, with each welding pulse being interrupted by welding-free rest intervals in which the laser beam is deactivated, wherein a local welding area is generated by each welding pulse, in which material of the two components is melted and fused in a locally limited manner, wherein individual welding areas of those generated by the welding pulses overlap.

摘要: A device comprising: a first substrate; and a second substrate bonded to the first substrate via an innermost bond, an outermost bond, and bonds between the innermost bond and the outermost bond, the second substrate comprising a through-hole and an axis extending through the through-hole. Each of the bonds has a strength, and the strength of the bonds increases sequentially from the innermost bond to the outermost bond. The strength of each bond is sufficiently low such that the bonds fail in response to liquid (within a cavity defined by the first substrate, a third substrate, and the through-hole of the second substrate) exerting pressure on the first substrate instead of the first substrate failing. Each of the bonds are configured to fail at approximately the same pressure exerted upon the first substrate by the liquid. Additionally disclosed is a method of manufacturing the device.

摘要: A process for room temperature substrate bonding employs a first substrate substantially transparent to a laser wavelength is selected. A second substrate for mating at an interface with the first substrate is then selected. A transmissivity change at the interface is created and the first and second substrates are mated at the interface. The first substrate is then irradiated with a laser of the transparency wavelength substantially focused at the interface and a localized high temperature at the interface from energy supplied by the laser is created. The first and second substrates immediately adjacent the interface are softened with diffusion across the interface to fuse the substrates.

摘要: Various embodiments relate to plastic-metal junctions and methods of making the same via laser-assisted joining. The present invention provides a method of forming a junction between a metal form and a solid plastic. The method can include laser treating a surface of a metal form to generate a feature (e.g., a plurality of at least one of pores and grooves) in the surface of the metal, wherein the laser has an angle of incidence with the surface of the metal of other than 0 degrees. The method can include contacting the metal surface including the feature with a flowable resin composition. The method can include curing the flowable resin composition to form the solid plastic, to provide the junction between the metal form and the solid plastic.

摘要: Wafers are aligned with one another by reference to features formed on or in each wafer. Notches are formed in each wafer, including a pivot-notch that allows for two-point contact, and a stop-notch that provides for single-point contact. A bias-notch is formed for pressing the wafers into engagement with the two-contact element when it is in the pivot-notch and with the single-contact element when it is in the stop-notch. The wafers may be bonded to one another to maintain the alignment of the referenced features.

摘要: A centrifugal blood pump prevents a shaft member from oscillating due to expansion of a pump housing resulting from pressurization of the blood. The centrifugal blood pump is manufactured by assembling a bottom member 21 and a lid member 22, and compressing them in a direction in which the bottom member 21 and the lid member 22 approach each other by a deformation amount along their outer circumferential walls. The lid member and the bottom member are joined while in the compressed state in order to create a preloading force between the shaft member and bearings to resist the expansion due to pressurization of the blood during use.
