Abstract:
An upper for an article of footwear is disclosed. The upper can include a plurality of layers, such as an inner layer, a middle knit layer, and an outer layer. Each of the plurality of layers can provide different functionalities to the upper. The combination of the inner layer, middle knit layer, and the outer layer can be effective at transferring a load from the underfoot region to a position above the biteline.
Abstract:
A cover member for a robot used in a painting process includes an inner knitted substructure, an outer knitted substructure and a spacer yarn positioned between and secured to the inner and outer knitted substructures. The cover member has stretchability, compressibility and resiliency similar to conventional resilient foam materials while at the same time providing characteristics for absorbing paint to substantially reduce paint dripping.
Abstract:
An exercise mat comprising: a bottom layer; and a top layer comprising an absorbent material and a traction enhancing material printed on the top layer.
Abstract:
Multi-layer laminates are provided which contain at least two binder layers and at least two textile-containing layers. One binder layer faces a substrate to be reinforced, with a second binder layer between two textile-containing layers wherein one of the textile-containing layers is interposed between the binder layers. The binder layer facing the substrate has an elasticity modulus when cured which is less than or the same as the elasticity modulus of the second binder layer. The laminates are suitable for reinforcing or stiffening planar substrates, especially thin-walled substrates such as motor vehicle body parts.
Abstract:
Typical road surfaces are concrete, and gravel filled asphalt. They are very abrasive to fabrics that slide on those surfaces. For the new side impact curtain-type airbag, in a rollover situation, the airbag needs to protect the occupant from directly contacting the road hazard and should not deflate quickly or break when sliding on such road surfaces. We have found that a layer of elastomer can provide much better abrasion resistance than a layer of heavy industrial fabric. A Jacquard bag coated with 1.2 oz/yd2 polyurethane showed significant increase in air leakage rate after 5 cycles of concrete sliding abrasion. A 3 mil thick polyurethane film was laminated to the coated Jacquard woven airbag. After 110 cycles of sliding abrasion using the same concrete, no visual damage or change in bag leakage was observed. This finding indicates surprisingly better abrasion resistance of a thin elastomer film than a heavy industrial fabric.
Abstract:
A mattress comprising a core and a casing, at least the upper surface of said casing comprising a laminate of a fabric and a foam at least about 0.15 inch thick, said fabric being outside and being bonded over substantially its entire underface to said foam, said laminate having a three-dimensional contoured and patterned surface. The fabric foam laminate is produced by printing adhesive from an engraved roll onto a foam sheet during compression of the sheet and contacting the sheet with a fabric while the adhesive is tacky. The engraving of the roll is deep along some lines and shallow everywhere else for overall bonding. Immediately thereafter the laminate is cooled to quench and set the tacky adhesive so the laminate has relatively deep depressions corresponding to the deep engraving of the roll.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a composite structure, a method for its manufacture, a sewing product containing the composite structure, and a method for manufacturing the sewing product. The composite structure has a Shore A hardness according to DIN 53505 of 20 to 45 and comprises a foam layer, a cover layer and a lacquering layer in this order, wherein the foam layer has a density of 40 to 100 kg/m3 and a gel content of 20 to 80% and contains a polyolefin and the cover layer has a gel content of 0 to 20%, is thermoplastic and comprises at least two compact sublayers each comprising at least one thermoplastic selected from polyolefin and polyvinyl chloride.
Abstract:
A cold protection material includes an outer fabric, an inner fabric, two connecting members bonded to the outer fabric and the inner fabric to form a space between the outer fabric and the inner fabric, and a filler stored in the space. Each of the two connecting members has an outer surface bonded to the outer fabric and an inner surface bonded to the inner fabric, and has air permeability, and each of the two connecting members is formed of a flexible material, and is soft enough not to be deformed to reduce a distance between the outer surface and the inner surface by a weight of the outer fabric or the inner fabric.

Abstract:
To provide a protector which does not need an extensive facility or an extensive die, and a wiring harness having the protector. A half pipe working as a protector is made by hardening water-curable resin composition held in base material. The half pipe can be made in a facility for only hardening it having a simplified die, and can be formed and provided in a wiring harness production process, namely, can be formed and provided corresponding to a vehicle requirement. The half pipe includes: a main body portion having a shape of substantially half of a circular pipe; and an attaching portion continued to the main body portion. The main body portion includes a conductive line receiving portion for receiving a high voltage conductive line.
