摘要: A method for assembling two tubes (1, 2) made from thermoplastic materials, that involves welding by heating two applied rotational contact surfaces of two parts of two tubes (1, 2), respectively, arranged end to end or overlapping coaxially (XX′). The method involves induction heating of at least one conductive welding element (4), arranged at the interface (3) between the two contact surfaces, by generating a magnetic field at said conductive welding element or elements, such that the melting of the thermoplastic materials constituting said contact surfaces produces a continuous and sealed weld at said interface on at least one closed loop along the entire perimeter of said interface.

摘要: A reduced vibration structure comprises honeycomb and a vibration damping coating on at least a portion of the internal surface of at least a portion of the cells of the honeycomb. The vibration damping coating is formed by curing a coating composition comprising acrylic polymer or copolymer emulsion and a vibration damping filler. The structure can include an adhesive coupled to both the upper surface and the lower surface of the honeycomb and two pieces of sheathing coupled to the adhesive, one on the upper surface and one on the lower surface of the honeycomb.

摘要: Novel cellular solids and foams from amorphous materials with a glass transition temperature (Tg) and methods of forming such materials are provided. In particular, foams are formed by expanding or compressing hollow spheres made of a high strength amorphous material, which is defined as a material having high strength characteristics, but also possessing a glass transition within a confined space. Using such a method, it has been unexpectedly found that it is possible to make cellular structures, including both open and closed cell foams, with customizable properties from materials that have been inaccessible with conventional methods. Moreover, based on calculations high specific strengths and stiffnesses are expected.

摘要: Curable compositions are provided comprising (i) at least one epoxy resin as specified (ii) an epoxide hardener system comprising (a) a carboxylic acid anhydride, (b) a first amine having a melting point from about 30 C to about 100 C and containing at least one primary amine group; and (c) a second amine having a melting point of from about 50 C to about 180 C and having at least one primary amine group, wherein the first and second amines are selected such that they have a difference in melting points of at least 10 C and wherein the first and second amines are contained in minor amounts by weight as compared to the carboxylic acid anhydride; and (iii) a filler as specified. Also provided are compositions obtainable by curing the curable composition, the use of the curable composition for filling of voids in honeycomb structures and processes for filing voids in honeycomb structures.

摘要: The invention relates to a process for making a epoxy composite. In the process an epoxy prepolymer, a curing agent and a particulate filler are combined to form a curable mixture. The mixture is then agitated under a non-air atmosphere to render it substantially homogeneous, and pressure is applied to the mixture to reduce or eliminate gas pockets in the mixture and is maintained until the curable mixture is cured to form the epoxy composite.
