Abstract:
Provided are mucolytic compounds that are more effective, and/or absorbed less rapidly from mucosal surfaces, and/or are better tolerated as compared to N-acetylcysteine (NAC) and DTT. The compounds are represented by compounds of Formula I which embrace structures (la)-(Ib), where the structural variables are as defined herein.
Abstract:
An ester compound represented by formula (1): wherein R 1 represents hydrogen, fluorine, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 alkoxymethyl, or C1-C4 alkylthiomethyl; R 3 represents hydrogen or methyl, R 4 represents hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl, and R 5 represents hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl; has an excellent pest control effect and is therefore useful as an active ingredient of a pest control agent.
Abstract:
Whilst methodologies for the Kinetic Resolution of alcohols are well established, no analogous direct methods exist for the highly selective, direct catalytic Kinetic Resolution of thiols ( i.e. , R-SH). The present invention relates to a method for resolving stereoisomeric mixtures of thiols. In particular, the present invention relates to purely organocatalytic mediated resolution of enantiomeric mixtures of thiols without the need for enzymes. Also disclosed are some novel catalysts. Such catalysts may comprise a cinchona alkaloid-derived moiety.
Abstract:

The present compounds are activators of PPARd and should be useful for treating conditions mediated by the same.
Abstract:
The present invention describes phenoxy-acetic acids and pharmaceutical compositions containing the same and methods of using the same. The phenoxy-acetic acids are activators of PPAR-δ and should be useful for treating conditions mediated by the same.

Abstract:
This invention generally relates to nanocrystal compounds, and linker arm for nanocrystal compounds that attach the nanocrystals to the organic compounds. The nanocrystal compound comprises a nanocrystal, linker arm, and organic compound. Preferably, the organic compound is a biologically active compound that can provide a fluorescent sensor. Preferably, the linker arm is a carbon chain with an attachment point for the nanocrystal and an attachment point for the organic compound. Specifically, the nanocrystal is attached to the linker arm through a R3 group and the organic compound is attached to the linker arm through a R2 group. R2 is a bond or selected from the group consisting of carbonyl, O, NH, S, CONH, COO, S, C1-10 alkyl, carbamate, and thiocarbamate. R3 is selected from the group consisting of: SH, O(CH2(n)O)nSH, NH(CH2(n)O)nSH, NH(CH2(n)NH)SH, S(CH2(n)O)nSH, S(CH2(n)S)SH, anda polyether chain. n is 1-10. S is attached to the nanocrystal.
