    摘要: Methods and systems are provided for biometric sensing. An illumination subsystem provides light at discrete wavelengths to a skin site of an individual. A detection subsystem receives light scattered from the skin site. A computational unit is interfaced with the detection system. The computational unit has instructions for deriving a spatially distributed multispectral image from the received light at the discrete wavelengths. The computational unit also has instructions for comparing the derived multispectral image with a database of multispectral images to identify the individual.

    摘要: A vehicle biometric system includes an in-vehicle telematics unit having a receiver configured to receive authentication data from a wireless communication device, a memory configured to store computer program instructions, and a processor configured to access and execute the computer program instructions. The authentication data can include voice data based on a vocal input received at the wireless communication device from a requesting user. The executed computer program instructions can cause the processor to analyze the received authentication data to make a determination as to whether the vocal input is that of an authorized user of the vehicle, and based on a positive determination that the vocal input is that of the authorized user, to initiate a vehicle function in response to the vocal input.

    摘要: The present invention provides a system and method for degrading and disabling a vehicle's engine throttle. The vehicle disable system includes a throttle position sensor that generates a throttle position signal, an electronic control module (“ECM”) input connected to the ECM on which the throttle position sensor provides the throttle position signal to the ECM, and an override input that enables an idling signal to be transmitted to the ECM instead of the throttle position signal. The method of the present invention includes the steps of receiving an input signal related to the state of the driver input mechanism, interpreting the input signal, and at least one of degrading and disabling the throttle based on the interpretation of the input signal.

    摘要: An occupant authentication apparatus is incorporated in a vehicle. The occupant authentication apparatus includes a communication processor, a biometric-data obtaining unit, a matching unit, and an association processor. The biometric-data obtaining unit obtains biometric data of an occupant of the vehicle. The communication processor communicates with a portable terminal device, and receives biometric data held by the portable terminal device. The matching unit matches the biometric data of the occupant obtained by the biometric-data obtaining unit with the biometric data that the communication processor receives from the portable terminal device. When the obtained biometric data matches the received biometric data, the association processor associates the occupant (or a seat position of the occupant), from whom the biometric data is obtained, with the portable terminal device, from which the biometric data is received.
