Abstract: A building panel has a deep drawn transparent film having an inner face and a structure having solar cells on the inner face of the deep-drawn film. The structure has an inner face turned away from the film and an outer face on or closely juxtaposed with the inner face of the film. A reinforcement layer constituted as a mass of foamed granular particles is spread over the inner face of the structure in direct contact with the inner face of the structure without the interposition of an adhesive and is heat cured to the film.

f) curing the polyurethane casting compound, in particular with the mold closed, to form a reinforcement layer (30), or comprising the following steps j) and k) instead of the steps e) and f):
j) introducing a granular particle foam mass into the cavity (33) of the mold (34) and spreading over an inner face (18) of the structure (19) and/or over the inner face (16) of the film (12),
k) baking and curing the particle foam mass, in particular with the mold closed, to form a reinforcement layer (30).-

Abstract: A multipolar solar module may include a string of series-connected solar cells and three or more terminals that are coupled to a module-level power electronic device (MLPE). A first terminal may be coupled to positive end of the string of series-connected solar cells, a second terminal may be coupled to the midpoint of the string of series-connected, and a third terminal may be coupled to the negative end of the string of series-connected solar cells. The voltage between the first terminal and the second terminal may be +Vpanel/2, and the voltage between the third terminal and the second terminal may be −Vpanel/2. Various topologies may be used inside the MLPE without some components that would be required in a unipolar solar module.

Abstract: A wafer precursor for creating photovoltaic (PV) concentrator modules and a method for fabricating solar concentrator modules using the wafer precursor. The method includes providing a crystalline silicon wafer substrate that can be used to make multiple concentrator cells to be incorporated into concentrator modules. The method also includes applying fingers as horizontal grid lines onto the crystalline silicon wafer substrate. The method also includes applying bus bars onto the crystalline silicon wafer substrate to form separate top grid structures. The number of separate top grid structures is at least two when the concentrator module is part of an optical system that has a concentration ratio of between about 8 and about 16 times sunlight. The number of top grid structures is at least three when the concentrator module is part of an optical system that has a concentration ratio of between about 17 and about 50.
