    摘要: A sensor/support system includes a sensor assembly having a planar radiation detector lying parallel to a reference plane, a readout circuit, and an interconnect joining the radiation detector to the readout circuit. The system further includes a support structure, the support structure having a platform with a first side to which the sensor assembly is affixed and a second side oppositely disposed from the first side. A shim is affixed to the second side of the platform. The shim is made of a shim material different from the detector material and the platform material. The shim reduces the strain in the interconnect when the temperature of the sensor/support system is changed, as compared with the strain in the interconnect in the absence of the stabilization structure. The shim is selected such that an in-plane strain in the interconnect, measured parallel to the reference plane, during a required thermal excursion is less than a maximum strain difference over the thermal excursion for the interconnect material in low-cycle fatigue for a design number of cycles evaluated over the required thermal excursion.

    摘要: A cooling type infrared rays detecting apparatus is disclosed which prevents a fluctuation of an infrared rays image arising from a variation of the cooling temperature. The infrared rays detecting apparatus includes a dummy element mounted adjacent an infrared rays detecting device on a device mounting portion of an inner tube. The dummy element has a similar structure to that of each of infrared rays detecting elements of the infrared rays detecting device and is formed from the same material as the latter. A temperature variation of the dummy element is detected from a variation in resistance of the dummy element, and an output of the infrared rays detecting device is compensated for in response to the thus detected temperature variation to prevent a possible fluctuation of an infrared rays image arising from a temperature variation. Consequently, an infrared rays image of a high quality can be obtained.

    摘要: The invention relates to an imager for simultaneously obtaining two images of differing color bands of the same object field using a single two dimensional photodetector array. A Fresnel-biprism with two different color filters on the respective left and right aperture halves convergently displaces the two images. An objective lens focuses the filtered convergent images upon a photodector array, the left and right halves of which are covered by a second filter pair. The second pair of filters pass the same color bands as the first pair of filters but the order of the color bands bands is reversed from left to right. As a result of the filtering and convergence, the photodetector array, aligned with its columns parallel to the filter boundaries, responds with its left half to one color image and with its right half to the other color image. The arrangement provides two color band operation without resorting to a second photodetector array, or duplicate read out electronics, and when used in the IR spectrum avoids the need for additional cryogenic apparatus.
