    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive an information element (IE) that includes: a higher layer parameter that indicates a plurality of modulation and coding scheme (MCS) thresholds; and another higher layer parameter that includes a plurality of resource block (RB) thresholds. The UE may determine a time density of phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) to be transmitted by the UE based at least partly on a comparison between a MCS and the plurality of MCS thresholds. The UE may determine a frequency density of the PT-RS based at least partly on a comparison between a scheduled bandwidth and the plurality of RB thresholds. The UE may encode the PT-RS for transmission in accordance with the determined time density and the determined frequency density.

    Abstract: A Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A) location server, user equipment (UE) and evolved Node-B (eNB) are generally described. Information may be transmitted to the UE from the location server. The transmission may be triggered by the location server or another entity requesting the UE location. The information may permit the UE to receive a discovery reference signal (DRS) from at least one eNB. The information may contain an indication of measurements to be performed using the DRS. The UE may measure Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) or Reference Signal Time Difference (RSTD) of the DRS. The UE may send the measurement information to the location server where the UE location is estimated. The UE location may be based on measurements of the DRS and a positioning reference signal (PRS) from one or more eNBs to obtain the Observed Time Difference of Arrival (OTDOA) or Enhanced Cell ID (ECID).

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe devices, methods, computer-readable media and systems configurations for configuration of downlink coordinated multi-point (CoMP) communications in a wireless communication network. A user equipment (UE) may receive channel state information (CSI) reference signal (RS) parameters, from an evolved Node B (eNB), for individual transmission points of a coordinated multi-point (CoMP) Measurement Set including a plurality of transmission points. The UE may generate CSI-RS feedback information for the individual transmission points of the CoMP Measurement Set, and may transmit the generated CSI-RS feedback information for one or more of the individual transmission points to the eNB. The UE may receive a transmission from the eNB updating the individual transmission points included in the CoMP Measurement Set.
