    Abstract: A processor is configured to identify a first impersonating message, transmitted over a Controller Area Network (CAN) bus by an attacking node connected to the bus, that appears to originate from a source other than the attacking node, to transmit via a transceiver, in response to identifying the first impersonating message, a stream of messages over the bus, until a defense message belonging to the stream collides with, and trumps, a second impersonating message from the attacking node, and to drive the attacking node, subsequently, into an error-passive state in which an ability of the attacking node to communicate over the bus is limited relative to before entering the error-passive state, by repeatedly retransmitting the defense message over the bus in sync with retransmissions of the second impersonating message by the attacking node, such that the defense message collides with, and trumps, multiple subsequent instances of the second impersonating message.

    Abstract: A method of mapping a collection of images, or other higher dimensional items including text documents, and three-and-higher dimensional objects, onto a navigable grid for browsing via a user interface comprises obtaining for each of the images a list of nearest neighbor images and similarity scores for each nearest neighbor; placing a first image on a cell within a grid; from a respective list of nearest neighbors of said first image, finding images that maximize a compatibility score with images already placed on the grid and placing resulting images on neighboring cells; and continuing to place further images on the grid until all cells visible to a user are filled with images. As the user pans or zooms the grid, more cells move into the visible area of the screen and are filled with images in the same way.

    Abstract: Apparatus and method for obtaining a plurality of spectral images of a source object in a snapshot using comprising two-dimensional compressed sensing data cube reconstruction (2D CS-SCR) applied to a dispersed-diffused snapshot image. In some embodiments, the snapshot image is obtained through a RIP diffuser. In some embodiments, a randomizer is used to further randomized the dispersed-diffused snapshot image. The 2D CS-SCR includes applying a 2D framelet transform separately to arrays representing different wavebands of spectral cube data derived from the snapshot image. The application of the 2D framelet transform separately to the arrays representing the different wavebands includes application of direct and inverse 2D framelet transforms to the arrays. In some embodiments, the direct and inverse framelet transforms are included in a split Bregman iteration.
