There is provided a bump structure for a semiconductor device, comprising a metal post formed on and electrically connected to an electrode pad on a substrate, a solder post formed on the top surface of the metal post, said solder post having the same horizontal width as the metal post and the top surface of the solder post being substantially rounded, and an intermetallic compound layer disposed at the interface between the metal post and the solder post. An oxide layer formed on the solder post prevents solder post under reflow from being changed into a spherical shape. An intermetallic compound layer may be formed by an aging process at the interface between the metal post and the solder post. The bump structure can realize fine pitch semiconductor package without a short between neighboring bumps.

A method for manufacturing a printed circuit board with a capacitor embedded therein which has a dielectric film using laser lift off, and a capacitor manufactured thereby. In the method, a dielectric film is formed on a transparent substrate and heat-treated. A first conductive layer is formed on the heat-treated dielectric film. A laser beam is irradiated onto a stack formed, from below the transparent substrate, to separate the transparent substrate from the stack. After the transparent substrate is separated from the stack, a second conductive layer is formed with a predetermined pattern on the dielectric film. Also, an insulating layer and a third conductive layer are formed on the first and second conductive layers to alternate with each other in a predetermined number.

A method and a system for creating, receiving and playing multi-view images are provided, and a related mobile communication device is also provided. A service server in the system receives images collected by the devices and encodes the received images based at least partly on redundancy of the images. The service server converts the received images into the multi-view images and sends them to a client terminal.

There is provided a thin film capacitor and a capacitor-embedded printed board improved in leakage current characteristics. A dielectric layer is formed of a BiZnNb-based amorphous metal oxide with a predetermined dielectric constant without being heat treated at a high temperature, and metallic phase bismuth of the BiZnNb-based amorphous metal oxide is adjusted in content to attain a desired dielectric constant. Also, another dielectric layer having a different content of metallic phase bismuth may be formed. The thin film capacitor including: a first electrode; a dielectric layer including a first dielectric film formed on the first electrode, the dielectric layer comprising a BiZnNb-based amorphous metal oxide; and a second electrode formed on the dielectric layer, wherein the BiZnNb-based amorphous metal oxide contains metallic phase bismuth.

Provided are a method and apparatus for displaying electronic program guide (EPG) information so that a broadcast program can be searched for even when the size of each display region of an EPG information screen, which displays program information, is small or reduced and a broadcast receiver therefor. The method includes detecting program information for each of a plurality of broadcast programs which are to be displayed from the electronic program guide information, adjusting or changing the program information to be suitable for a display region for each broadcast program in an electronic program guide information screen, and constructing and displaying the electronic program guide information screen so that the electronic program guide information reflects the adjusted or changed program information.

A method of determining the type of an optical medium loaded into an optical medium driving system, the optical medium driving system, and a recording medium therefor. The method includes determining the type of the loaded optical medium by selecting the type of an optical medium to be determined based on predetermined sequence information; and updating the predetermined sequence information such that the type of the loaded optical medium outranks the other types of optical media listed in the predetermined sequence information, if the type of the loaded optical medium is determined.

There is provided a segment-based pixel processing apparatus and method for effective use of memory. The method includes dividing pixel data within a frame into a plurality of segments in the vertical direction; sequentially pre-processing or post-processing pixel data in a segment among the plurality of segments in line units, and then, sequentially pre-processing or post-processing pixel data in a next segment in line units; and repeating pre-processing or post-processing on pixel data in the other segments in line units until reaching a segment of a predetermined number.

A method of reproducing a sub-picture recorded on a digital storage medium in a trick play mode so that a desired reproduction location can be more accurately searched, and a digital storage medium drive thereof. The method includes detecting video frame data to be reproduced in the trick play mode and sub-picture data corresponding to the video frame data, from data read from the digital storage medium, decoding the detected video frame data and sub-picture data, respectively, and mixing the decoded video frame data with the decoded sub-picture data and outputting the mixed data.

An image storing and/or replaying apparatus and a method therefor capable of storing a transient image and replaying the stored image at a desired time, the apparatus receives a broadcast stream including a plurality of still image frames and replays the images on a screen. The apparatus includes an image unit, which extracts and stores at least a portion of the plurality of the still image frames and replays the stored still image frames; and a control unit, which controls the extracting, storing, and replaying operations. The apparatus can be adapted to digital and analog broadcasts. In addition, in case of the digital broadcast, an I-frame may be extracted from a compressed image frame and stored. In particular, only some portion of the I-frame, that is, a lower slice of the I-frame, may be stored.
