摘要: In some examples, an article includes a substrate and a coating on the substrate. The coating includes a stabilized microstructure including Magnéli oxide phase including an oxide of at least one of W, Mo, Nb, Ta, or Re. In some examples, a technique may include forming a coating including a refractory metal on a surface of a substrate. The technique also may include heat treating the coating at a temperature between about 500° C. and about 700° C. to form a coating including a stabilized microstructure including Magnéli oxide phase. The stabilized microstructure including Magnéli oxide phase may include an oxide of at least one of W, Mo, Nb, Ta, or Re. In some examples, the coating including the stabilized microstructure including Magnéli oxide phase exhibits a coefficient of friction that is at least 25% less than the coefficient of friction exhibited by the as-deposited coating under similar conditions.

摘要: A resin composition for use in a sliding member, which has higher seizing resistance while maintaining abrasion resistance. The sliding resin composition includes: a resin binder; a solid lubricant; and a protecting and reinforcing agent that is harder and brittler than the resin binder. As the protecting and reinforcing agent, aggregates of particles harder than the resin binder are used. The amount of the protecting and reinforcing agent contained is 1 vol. % or more but 20 vol. % or less of the entire sliding resin composition. The particles harder than the resin binder have an average particle diameter of 10 nm or more but 100 nm or less that is smaller than that of the solid lubricant.

摘要: A sliding component for an internal combustion engine may include a ferrous base having a peripheral sliding surface covered with a protective layer including at least one of a nitride applied via physical vapor deposition and a nitrided layer. The base may include a coating of carbon of a diamond-like carbon type. The coating may include at least one of (i) a transition layer including a composition of WC1-X and (ii) a layer of metallic chromium of crystalline structure disposed between the ferrous base and an outer layer of amorphous carbon. The coating may also include an intermediate layer of a nanocrystalline phase of carbides in a multilayer structure having a first sub-layer including a composition different than a second sub-layer disposed under the outer layer.

摘要: A material that is useful as a wear-resistant member, a highly functional photocatalytic material, a photoelectric conversion element material, etc., is produced without the need for complicated processes or complicated handling, which are problems of the prior art. Provided is a method for producing a surface-treated metallic titanium material or titanium alloy material, the method comprising the steps of (1) forming titanium nitride on the surface of a metallic titanium material, and (2) heating the metallic titanium material with titanium nitride formed on the surface thereof obtained in step (1) in an oxidizing atmosphere. Also provided is a method for producing a surface-treated metallic titanium material or titanium alloy material, the method comprising, between steps (1) and (2) above, the step of anodizing the metallic titanium material with titanium nitride formed on the surface thereof obtained in step (1) in an electrolyte solution that does not have an etching effect on titanium, thereby forming a titanium oxide film. Further provided is a surface-treated material.
