摘要: In an intake apparatus of an internal combustion engine, an EGR gas inlet port of each of plural EGR gas distribution pipes is provided at a position at which a volume of an intake port from a surge tank to the EGR gas inlet port is equal to or greater than a volume of an EGR gas introduced to an intake pipe from each of the EGR gas distribution pipes during one cycle of the internal combustion engine and at a position towards the surge tank relative to a center of the intake port in a flow direction thereof.

摘要: A low temperature cooling device applied to an internal combustion engine includes an EGR device, a low temperature coolant circuit, a prediction unit predicting whether an EGR cooler falls into a state where a cooling performance falls short according to at least one of an operating state of an internal combustion engine and an outside air environment while a control that dehumidifies an EGR gas by cooling the EGR gas in the EGR cooler is performed, and a control unit performing at least one of a first increase control that increases a flow rate of a coolant flowing into the EGR cooler, a second increase control that increases an air rate of a radiator fan cooling a radiator, and an inhibition control that inhibits the EGR gas from flowing back when the prediction unit predicts that the EGR cooler falls into the state where the cooling performance falls short.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for estimating an amount of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) from an exhaust passage into an intake passage of an engine system by operating an exhaust oxygen sensor in a variable voltage (VVs) mode. In one example, a method includes during operation of an exhaust oxygen sensor in the VVs mode where a reference voltage of the exhaust oxygen sensor is adjusted from a lower, first voltage to a higher, second voltage, adjusting engine operation based on the EGR amount estimated based on an output of the exhaust oxygen sensor and a learned correction factor based on the second voltage. In this way, the exhaust oxygen sensor may be used to correct for variations arising due to changing fuel composition and ambient humidity and further used to estimate the amount of EGR being recirculated in the system, thereby enhancing engine fueling and EGR control.

The multi-cylinder internal combustion engine (1) comprises: four exhaust side branch conduits (15), one provided for each of the cylinders (2); a storage tank (31) configured to store condensed water (CW) generated by the EGR cooler (27); and four condensed water introduction conduits (33), one provided for each of the exhaust side branch conduits (15) and communicating the exhaust side branch conduit (15) with the storage tank (31).

摘要: A method of operating an dedicated exhaust gas recirculation engine including a water gas shift catalyst by supplying ambient air and fuel to a dedicated cylinder at a first fuel to air equivalence ratio in the range of greater than 1.0 to 1.6 for a first number of engine cycles and, for a second number of engine cycles, supplying ambient air and fuel to the dedicated cylinder at a second fuel to air equivalence ratio in the range of 0.7 to less than 1.0. During the second number of cycles, spark timing of the dedicated cylinder is adjusted and a time delay when exhaust recirculated from the dedicated cylinder will be inducted into the cylinders is determined. At the end of the time delay, a second spark timing of the main cylinder is adjusted and the amount of fuel supplied to the main cylinders is increased.

摘要: A method for diagnosing a malfunction of a sensor system in an air system of an internal combustion engine, said sensor system comprising a first air state sensor, a second air state sensor and a third air state sensor, wherein a first value and a second value of a first comparison variable are ascertained in two different ways in an overall calculation step such that the result of a comparison between the first value and the second value is a function of each of the output variables of the first, second and third air state sensors and wherein in a fault detection step, said method recognizes as a function of the comparison between said first value and said second value of the comparison variable that a fault exists in the sensor system.

摘要: A cooling system and method of using a cooling system for an engine equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. A pump provides pressure for circulating liquid through the cooling system. The cooling system has two loops: an engine cooling loop and an EGR cooling loop. The engine cooling loop cools the engine in a conventional manner. The EGR cooling loop goes first to an EGR cooler and next to an oil cooler. The heat exchange at the EGR cooler results in warmed coolant being delivered to the oil cooler, where it warms engine oil. Warm-up time for engine oil is thereby decreased.

One single flap of the two flaps is drivable via a gear pair with non-round or eccentric gears. The drive of the other flap has lost motion, whereby the closing movements of the flaps can be formed in a particularly free manner with only a single actuating motor.

摘要: An EGR apparatus includes a EGR passage and an EGR valve provided in the EGR passage to regulate an EGR flow rate in the EGR passage. An ECU closes the EGR valve from an open state prior to start of deceleration of the engine based on engine rotation speed detected by a rotation speed sensor, accelerator opening degree detected by an accelerator sensor, and actual opening degree of the EGR valve. During deceleration of the engine, the ECU obtains a target opening degree of the EGR valve according to the separately detected engine rotation speed and accelerator opening degree from a target opening degree map and starts to close the EGR valve when a difference between an actual opening degree and the target opening degree of the EGR valve exceeds a predetermined value.
