摘要: An apparatus for suspending air bubbles in a fluid path of a fluid injector system includes an internal chamber having a curved interior wall defined within the housing, an inlet fluid pathway in fluid communication with the internal chamber, and an outlet fluid pathway in fluid communication with the internal chamber. The inlet fluid pathway extending into the chamber at a tangent to the curved interior wall, and the outlet fluid pathway spaced from the inlet fluid pathway such that fluid flowing into the internal chamber via the inlet fluid pathway is directed away from the outlet fluid pathway. The internal chamber is configured to create an internal fluid vortex in an injection fluid entering the internal chamber from the inlet fluid pathway, and wherein the internal fluid vortex at least temporarily suspends one or more air bubbles in the fluid in the internal vortex and delays the passage of the one or more air bubbles to the outlet fluid pathway.

摘要: The present disclosure provides improved technologies relating to medical fluid heating systems and apparatus. In certain embodiments, the present disclosure relates to systems and apparatus for heating a fluid and, more particularly, for quickly and controllably heating a flow of blood or a blood product, for example, for infusion into a patient or for hyperthermia treatment. In particular, in a first aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a system and apparatus featuring single flow path fluid heating (“single path flow”). Moreover, in a second aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a system, apparatus, and related method for efficiently utilizing the thermal energy of an infusate stored in a reservoir (“slack time heating”). Furthermore, in a third aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a fluid heating system and apparatus featuring a vacuum release valve designed to prevent the undesired orientation of deformed inflow tubing (“vacuum release valve”).

摘要: A fluid sensing apparatus and method for detecting pressure and a presence of a bubble within a fluid tube. The fluid sensing apparatus comprises a housing configured to receive a portion of the fluid tube and to house a pressure sensor and an ultrasonic transmitter. The pressure sensor is positioned adjacent the fluid tube and is configured to receive a pressure sensor signal, which correlates to a detected pressure differential within the fluid tube. A controller transmits a drive signal to the ultrasonic transmitter, which emits ultrasonic waves through a portion of the fluid tube and to the pressure sensor. The pressure sensor receives both the ultrasonic waves and the pressure sensor signal, and subsequently transmits an output signal to the controller. In a presence of the detected pressure differential or the bubble within the fluid tube, the output signal will exhibit a DC shift or a distortion of signal characteristics of the output signal, respectively.

摘要: An air trap chamber is provided with a chamber body and a filter. An introduction pipe of the chamber body is provided so as to extend to the inside of the chamber body, and an inlet port which is an end opening of the introduction pipe is provided, on the inner circumferential surface of the chamber body, so as to be directed toward the circumferential direction. The filter is provided inside the chamber body, and covers an outlet port of the chamber body. Openings are formed, at multiple stages along the center axis direction, in the cylindrical portion of the filter. An opening at an upper stage on the ceiling portion side of the filter has a circumferential width greater than that of an opening at a lower stage on the outlet port side.

摘要: An implantable percutaneous fluid delivery device is described that includes a subcutaneous base portion having one or more ports for supplying fluid to one or more implanted catheter devices and a percutaneous portion including an extracorporeal surface. The one or more ports of the subcutaneous base portion are accessible from the extracorporeal surface of the percutaneous portion. The subcutaneous base portion is at least partially insertable into a complementary recess formed in a bone, the subcutaneous base portion including one or more features for gripping the internal surface of such a complementary recess thereby directly anchoring the subcutaneous base portion to the bone. The device may be used to route fluid to neurosurgical catheters optionally via a router unit.

摘要: A patch-sized fluid delivery device may include a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion may include components that come into contact with the fluid, while the reusable portion may include only components that do not come into contact with the fluid. Redundant systems, such as redundant controllers, power sources, motor actuators, and alarms, may be provided. Alternatively or additionally, certain components can be multi-functional, such a microphones and loudspeakers that may be used for both acoustic volume sensing and for other functions and a coil that may be used as both an inductive coupler for a battery recharger and an antenna for a wireless transceiver. Various types of network interfaces may be provided in order to allow for remote control and monitoring of the device.

Methods for filling a syringe barrel with a liquid are also provided.
