Abstract: A functional polymer including at least two different types of side chains, having the general formula (1), wherein A is an at least monosubstituted alkylene or arylene group; B is an amide, ester or ether group and n is 0 or 1; F is selected from: an ester, secondary amine, amide, ether, thio ether, thio ester, and may be the same or different for the different side chains; D is a side chain intended to reversible bind to a substrate or has a coating function; E is a side chain intended to irreversible bind to a substrate, the side chain E and polymer includes 1 to 10 different side chains D and 1 to 10 different side chains E, but at least one of each, and includes a plurality of each type, whereby the different types of side chains are randomly or regularly distributed in the polymer.

Abstract: The invention relates to a composition intended for coating polymer films, making it possible to improve the adhesion between the film and a final coating, and to confer good barrier properties on the coated film. The coating composition comprises at least one acrylic and/or methacrylic polymer which has a gel content of at least 50% by weight, relative to the total weight of acrylic and/or methacryclic polymer, at least one crosslinking agent and at least one polyester comprising sulphonyloxy groups, which is water-soluble or water-dispersible.

The second resin is preferably a resin containing a fluorine atom. The radical reactive group of the first resin is preferably a (meth)acryloyl group.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a mineral fibre thermal insulation product comprises the sequential steps of: Forming mineral fibres from a molten mineral mixture; Spraying a substantially formaldehyde free binder solution on to the mineral fibres, the binder solution comprising: a reducing sugar, an acid precursor derivable from an inorganic salt and a source of nitrogen; Collecting the mineral fibres to which the binder solution has been applied to form a batt of mineral fibres; and Curing the batt comprising the mineral fibres and the binder which is in contact with the mineral fibres by passing the batt through a curing oven so as to provide a batt of mineral fibres held together by a substantially water insoluble cured binder.
