The present invention provides a polyester film which is excellent in hydrolysis resistance of a base film, is hardly deteriorated in adhesion property to various members or top-coating agents, and can suitably used, for example, as a film for a protective member for protecting a back surface of solar cells. The present invention relates to a biaxially oriented polyester film in the form of a laminated film comprising a biaxially oriented polyester base film having a phosphorus element content of 0 to 170 ppm and a terminal carboxylic acid content of not more than 26 equivalents/t, and a coating layer formed on at least one surface of the biaxially oriented polyester base film which comprises a polyurethane having a polycarbonate skeleton or a polyether skeleton and a crosslinking agent, wherein the laminated film has a haze value of not more than 10%.

The invention relates to a transparent, electrically conductive, biaxially oriented, single- or multilayer polyester film which includes a coating composed of (a) conductive (ITO) indium tin oxide particles or (ATO) antimony tin oxide particles, or of a mixture of these. The film further include other conductive components (b). The other conductive components (b) may be present either in the coating including ITO particles and/or ATO particles or in a layer in contact therewith. The conductive component (b) may also be a metal layer in contact with the ITO and/or ATO. The film is only oriented or relaxed prior to application of the ITO and/or ATO coating. The invention further relates to a process for the production of the film, and its use.

White, biaxially oriented polyester films which have a base layer B which comprises a thermoplastic polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate, and which comprise substantially only TiO2 as a white pigment, whose R value is less than 43 daN/mm2, whose emax ratio is less than 2.5 and at least one of whose two surfaces of the film has been provided with an acrylate-containing coating, are particularly tear-resistant and do not tend to delamination and are therefore suitable in particular as lid films for food containers, for example yoghurt cups. A process is described for producing the films.

The invention relates to transparent, biaxially oriented and heat-set films having one or more layers and compris, as main constituent, at least one crystallizable thermoplastic, in particular a polyester, and also comprise at least one hydrolysis stabilizer. The hydrolysis stabilizer is preferably a phenolic compound, an oxazoline, and/or a monomeric or polymeric carbodiimide, where appropriate combined with an organic phosphite. It is preferably added in the form of a masterbatch. The film exhibits low longitudinal and transverse shrinkage. On exposure to moisture and heat it shows practically no embrittlement and retains its ultimate tensile strength. The additional functionality is preferably that the film has been made UV-resistant, or flame-retardant, or on one side or on both sides has been coated, or is sealable, and/or has been corona- or flame-treated. The film is generally produced by extrusion or coextrusion, the hydrolysis stabilizer being added in the form of a predried or precrystallized masterbatch.
