Abstract:
The present disclosure teaches that PIPKIγ binds cadherins and adaptor protein μ-subunits and mediates trafficking of cadherins to and from the plasma membrane. Thus, the present invention relates to a method for identifying agents which modulate the trafficking or binding activities of a PIPKIγ. A method for diagnosing and prognosing a cancer derived from epithelial cells by detecting the amount and subcellular location of PIPKIγ is also provided as is a method for preventing or treating a disease or condition involving PIPKγ activity or cadherin localization.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are disclosed for managing the communications and information resources of a user. Identity information relating to the user is received. The user's preference for withholding an incoming communication is obtained. An entry is created in a message log for the withheld communication. The user is not notified of receipt of the withheld communication, yet receipt of the withheld communication is logged in the message log.
Abstract:
A drive module for a covering for architectural openings includes a driver worm and a driven worm with axes of rotation substantially parallel to each other.
Abstract:
A cord drive mechanism to convert linear motion to circular motion for use in coverings for architectural openings. Various controls are used to provide a braking force on the cord. Some of the embodiments incorporate a capstan.
Abstract:
A connection arrangement for a micro lead frame plastic (MLP) package is provided that includes a paddle configured to be connected to a circuit board and a first ground pad and a second ground pad each connected to the paddle. The first and second ground pads together with the paddle are configured to provide continuity of ground between the circuit board and a chip mounted to the paddle.
Abstract:
A modular blind transport system for a window blind application. The complete system may be assembled form a relatively small number of individual modules to obtain working systems for a very wide range of applications, including especially a category of counterbalanced blinds wherein a relatively small external input force may be used to raise or lower the blind, and/or to open or close the blind.
Abstract:
A laminate multilayer ball-grid-array package is suitable for millimeter-wave circuits. The frequency bandwidth of the package is DC to 40 GHz. The package is made using laminate circuit board materials to match the temperature expansion coefficients of the package to the host PCB. Electrical connection between the package and the host PCB on which the package is mounted is achieved using ball-grid-array technology. The package can be sealed, covered, or encapsulated, and is suitable for high-volume production.
Abstract:
A Venetian-style window blind (10) that resembles plantation style shutters is described. In a preferred embodiment, the headrail is shaped like the plurality of slats depending from it, is pivotally connected to the sides of a window frame by mounting brackets and has a hollow interior. Tilting of the plurality slats depending from the headrail is accomplished by vertically moving an actuator rod that is pivotally connected to the headrail. The plurality of slats are suspended from the headrail by a cord ladder to tilt in unison with the headrail. While tilting the blind assembly into the closed position, the headrail and depending slats also slide inwardly towards the windowpane. The slats are lifted through the actuation of a lift handle that is slidably attached to the actuator rod and contains therein a lock mechanism to hold the slats in a desired position.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fowlpox virus genome which has modifications in one or more wild-type FPV genes. The present invention also relates to a viral particle comprising such a genome and its use to deliver a nucleotide of interest (NOI) to a target cell. The present invention also relates to vaccination methods, particularly a method which comprises administering a priming composition (which comprises a first non-replicating viral vector) and a boosting composition (which comprises a second non-replicating viral vector) to a subject to treat and/or prevent a disease.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for enabling vapor handling in printing. In certain implementations, for example, one or more volatiles emitted during an ink-based printing process may be condensed into one or more liquids. The one or more liquids may be directed into absorbent materials such that the combined liquids and absorbent materials form a substance that qualifies as a solid, as determined by a given solid definition or regulatory standard. In certain (alternative but non-exhaustive) implementations, the volatiles emitted during printing may include water and oil, with the oil vapor being condensed into a liquid and added to the absorbent materials while the water vapor is being forwarded under the force of, e.g., negative air pressure.
