Abstract: A reinforced gasket material. A non-metallic scrim layer is interposed between layers of gasket material to provide strength to the gasket material. The layers of the gasket material can include binding agent to aid adhering to each other and to the non-metallic scrim layer. The non-metallic scrim layer can also be coated in binding agent. The layers of the gasket material can include high-temperature sealing material, compressed fiber, exfoliated graphite, or polytetrafluoroethylene.

Abstract: A selectively repositionable mat having a liquid-absorbing layer backed by a moisture impermeable backsheet having peripheral margins including oppositely disposed, laterally extending side margins each comprising a longitudinally extending V-fold containing a pressure-sensitive adhesive applied between two opposed surface portions of the underside of the backsheet. The V-fold can open to the outside when configured as the top part of a Z-fold disposed above the backsheet or can open to the inside when configured as a single fold disposed below the backsheet, but is desirably configured so as to permit repositionable attachment of the mat to an underlying surface or substrate for which the selectively releasable, pressure-sensitive adhesive demonstrates sufficient tackiness to hold the mat in place relative to the substrate during normal use.

Abstract: A radiant barrier has a layer of a flexible polymer, such as TPO, and a layer of metallic aluminum bonded thereto. A reinforcement layer, such as a fiberglass scrim, and a layer of adhesive, such as EVA, may be used to strengthen the barrier and prevent de-lamination. LDPE may be incorporated into the TPO to increase strength. The barrier may also be a moisture barrier. The layers may be laminated by a heated roll set and the aluminum applied by vapor deposition.

Abstract: Garments made from a composite, protective fabric are disclosed. The composite fabric has textile layers placed in proximity to metallic mesh layers of woven stainless steel mesh. The metal mesh layers formed from any metal which forms suitable fibers. The textile layers are fabric formed with well-known fabric fibers selected from those including para-aramid fibers, meta-aramid fibers, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers, polyethylene terephthalate fibers, cellulose fibers, polyamide fibers, a mixture of para-aramid fibers and meta-aramid fibers, and a mixture of para-aramid fibers and carbon fibers. Forming the non-metal textile layers is by any suitable method for interlacing yarns including weaving, knitting, crocheting, knotting, or felting, or combinations thereof. The garments made using the fabric include gloves, bullet proof vests and chain-saw resistant trousers.
