Abstract:
This invention relates to a method and composition for improving the corron resistance and anti-wear properties of synthetic lubricating oil greases comprising the addition to said greases of effective amounts of a chelated Schiff base derived from the condensation of approximately stoichiometic amounts of at least one aldehyde and a polyamine.
Abstract:
Silicone hydraulic compositions, comprising a polydimethylsiloxane fluid and a phenylmethylsiloxane/dimethylsiloxane copolymer having a viscosity at least ten fold greater than said polydimethylsiloxane fluid and having a molar phenylmethylsiloxane content of about 4.5 percent to about 7 percent are disclosed. The fluids exhibit a reduced viscosity temperature coefficient (VTC) relative to conventional polydimethylsiloxane oils and are useful in hydraulic applications such as viscous coupling and viscous damping.
Abstract:
A durable, effective foam suppressant composition produced through free-radical polymerization of mixtures of polydiorganosiloxanes, silica and a free radical polymerization initiator, and optionally, vinyl monomer(s) and pendant vinyl modified silicone oil, followed by dilution of the resulting reaction product with a low viscosity polysiloxane is disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for its production and use in suppressing foams in liquid mediums.
Abstract:

A lubricating oil composition for use in a Flon atmosphere is disclosed, which comprises a base oil having incorporated therein from 20 to 10,000 wt ppm of a higher fatty acid-modified silicone oil. The lubricating oil composition is excellent in both wear resistance and Flon stability.
Abstract:
A composition for viscous fluid coupling is described. The composition comprises a liquid organopolysiloxane and a reaction product of a liquid organopolysiloxane with an aromatic aminophenol in the presence of a quaternary phosphonium hydroxide. The composition is characterized by a long term stability, undergoing little torque variation even at elevated temperatures and high shear forces.
Abstract:
Traction fluids containing certain siloxane components and, optionally, certain cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon components are described. These traction fluids possess high traction coefficients and good low temperature viscosity properties which make these fluids ideally suited for use in traction drive systems subjected to wide operating temperature conditions.
