Abstract:
A flexible cryogenic hose for liquefied natural gas (LNG) transfers is described. A cryogenic LNG transfer hose includes an LNG transfer hose carcass including an inner coil forming an inner diameter of the LNG transfer hose carcass, at least one elongate sheath form-fitted about an outer surface of the inner coil, wherein the at least one elongate sheath is impermeable to natural gas, and an outer coil forming an outer diameter of the LNG transfer hose carcass. A marine LNG transfer system includes a cryogenic flexible hose fluidly coupling a transferring LNG carrier located offshore and an LNG receiving vessel, the cryogenic flexible hose comprising a coil, at least one natural gas impermeable elongate sheath form-fit about an outer surface of the coil, and wherein LNG flows through the cryogenic flexible hose during transfer of LNG between the transferring LNG carrier and the LNG receiving vessel.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates generally to corrugated pipe, and more particularly to corrugated pipe with a reinforcing stiffener. The corrugated pipe may include an axially extended bore defined by a corrugated outer wall having axially adjacent, outwardly-extending corrugation crests, separated by corrugation valleys. In some embodiments, a stiffener may be positioned within the corrugation valleys. In other embodiments, a stiffener may be positioned within the corrugation crests.
Abstract:
This disclosure relates generally to corrugated pipe, and more particularly to corrugated pipe with an outer wrap. In one embodiment, a pipe includes an axially extended bore defined by a corrugated outer wall having axially adjacent, outwardly-extending corrugation crests, separated by corrugation valleys. The pipe also includes an outer wrap applied to the outer wall. The outer wrap may include fibers and plastic. The outer wrap may span the corrugation crests producing a smooth outer surface.
Abstract:
A device for organizing clothes in a closet having a clothes hanger rod is disclosed. In one aspect, the device includes a series of resilient ribs that are each shaped as an incomplete circle that terminates at a first end and a second end, wherein the ribs are aligned along an axis that intersects a center of each circle, each of the ribs has a space between it and an adjacent one of the ribs, each of the first ends is connected to an adjacent one of the first ends, and each of the second ends is connected to an adjacent one of the second ends, and the ribs are adapted to fit onto the rod, with the space between the ribs configured to allow a clothes hanger hook to hang directly on the rod.
Abstract:
A thin ribbon spirally wound polymer conduit and method of forming, wherein a helical reinforcing bead is interposed adjacent overlapping layers of ribbon. Further, a method of continuously forming spirally wound conduit wherein a sacrificial layer, preferably having a different base polymer to that of the conduit, is first applied to the former before the conduit is formed overtop.
Abstract:
A reinforced hose assembly includes tubular inner layers with a uniform interior radial surface and an exterior radial surface. The tubular inner layer defines a longitudinal axis along a length thereof and comprises a first fluorocarbon polymer. The reinforced hose assembly also includes a bonding layer comprising a second fluorocarbon polymer. The bonding layer is disposed about the exterior radial surface of the tubular inner layer. The reinforced hose assembly also includes a reinforcing element comprising the second fluorocarbon polymer, attached to bonding layer and helically disposed about the tubular inner layer at a predetermined helical pitch measured relative to the longitudinal axis of the tubular inner layer.
Abstract:
A method for making helically corrugated rubber tubing with a helical reinforcing element secured therein. A helical spring like element with axially spaced convolutions is slid onto a mandrel and a sleeve formed of uncured rubber is slid over the spring like element. The mandrel is then rotated about its axis and a flexible cord is wrapped around the sleeve to press portions of the sleeve into the spaces between adjacent convolutions of the spring like element and form helical corrugations. The resulting assembly is then placed in an oven to cure the rubber sleeve after which the cord is removed. The finished product is then removed from the mandrel.
Abstract:
A limb for a breathing circuit manufactured from very thin walled polymer materials has an elongate axial reinforcing spine lying freely inside the conduit and fixed to each end connector. The spine is laterally compliant but axially stiff. The spine provides resistance to tensile and compressive loads on the conduit, including that induced by prevailing internal pressures.
Abstract:
A flexible, stretchable, crush resistant hose particularly well suited for supplying breathing gases to patients in medical applications and the like has a helix defined by reinforcing coils of thermoplastic material, and a web of thermoplastic material bonded or welded to adjacent ones of the coils, preferably near outer diameter portions of the coils. The web extends radially inwardly between the adjacent pairs of the reinforcing coils to define a helical reverse-direction crease that can be located closer to or farther from a centerline of the hose than is the inner diameter of the reinforcing coils. The thermoplastic material of the hose is stress relieved by an annealing process performed during axial compression of the hose at a time after the hose has been formed.
Abstract:
The invention refers to a charge air hose for motor vehicles, comprising: a hose-shaped base member and a textile reinforcement. In a conventional charge air hose the textile reinforcement is embedded into the base member or it is arranged between two layers of the base member. A continuing dynamic load of the conventional charge air hose leads to delamination of the composite. To solve the problems known from the prior art, the invention provides a charge air hose for motor vehicles, comprising: a hose-shaped base member, a textile reinforcement arranged on the surface of the base member, wherein the hose-shaped base member is a vulcanized, elastomer-containing hose.
