摘要: High temperature (HT) and low temperature (LT) cooling water, the LT cooling water being at a lower temperature than the HT cooling water, circulate in HT and LT cooling water flows in respective channels. A controller controls to set the temperature of the LT cooling water lower in a case where an operating point of an engine lies in a particular region in an operational region of the engine, the particular region including a region in which the load is high and the engine speed is low, than in a case where the operating point lies in an operational region other than the particular region. Furthermore, the controller narrows the particular region in a direction toward higher loads in a case where the temperature of the HT cooling water is lower than a predetermined temperature.

摘要: A display element can be used to represent bars of variable length. The display instrument may have a plurality of light chambers which are disposed adjacent to one another and in each case have a light barrier to the respective adjacent light chamber. The light chambers each have an optical waveguide. The light barrier is formed from one side of the optical waveguide which is impermeable to light or only partially light-permeable. Moreover, a corresponding display instrument, vehicle and display method may use the optical waveguide and the display element.

摘要: Water-temperature sensors for detection of temperature of cooling water 12 having passed through an engine 1 are increased in number into two (18 and 19). A controller 20 is provided to confirm that each of detection values of the water-temperature sensors 18 and 19 is within a normal range and then employ either of the detection values as temperature of the cooling water 12. The controller 20 is configured such that, when either of the detection values of the water-temperature sensors 18 and 19 is out of the normal range, the remaining detection value within the normal range is employed as temperature of the cooling water 12.

摘要: A learning unit learns a difference between a detected value ECT and a detected value RCT when it is determined that the detected value ECT and detected value RCT are stable while an engine is at a stop. A diagnostic unit performs a fault diagnosis for the engine based on the difference between the detected value ECT and detected value RCT having been corrected through use of a learned value learned by the learning unit. Accordingly, a fault diagnostic system for an internal combustion engine and a fault diagnostic method for an internal combustion engine can be achieved in which accuracy in fault diagnosis for the internal combustion engine can be improved and an erroneous diagnosis can be restrained.
