摘要: A method and an apparatus are described to prepare monolayers of particles (or molecules ) (3), realizing the steps of: injecting a liquid film (2) with particles (3) dispersed on the external surface of a rotary member (1); adjusting the surface charge density of the particles (3) by injecting adsorption reagents (10), carrying particles (3) placed on film (2) surface so that they form a substantially uniform monolayer (5); putting the monolayer (5) on the liquid film surface (2) in contact with a substrate (7); and advancing the rotary member (1) longitudinally with respect to the substrate (7), in both directions, so that the monolayer (5) is detached from the liquid film (2) and attached to the substrate (7).

摘要: A method of supplying a liquid dispersive medium of fine particles onto the surface of a substrate having a flat surface, forming a liquid thin film and controlling the liquid thickness of the liquid dispersive medium through evaporation, for example, thereby assembling the particles in a two-dimensional manner. By controlling the liquid thickness of the liquid dispersive medium of the particles, it is possible to cause rapid two-dimensional assembly of the particles, and in addition, to control the order of particle size in the assembly. Fixing of the assembly permits the formation of a film structure.

摘要: An assembly for the deposition of aqueous coating compositions in printing processes including wet-trap in-line, off-line dry-trap, gravure, offset (using water and waterless), silk-screen, flexography and related printing processes. Use of the present invention results in the adaption of an aqueous coating to virtually any coating method without the need to change the chemical content of that formulation and in certain embodiments, produces unexpectedly high levels of solid being incorporated into printing coating compositions for obtaining levels of gloss on surfaces which have been heretofore unobtainable. In addition, the present invention is readily adaptable to virtually every type of coating process used to coat inked, uninked and related surfaces. The present invention also may be adapted for use of improved coatings without affecting the mechanical transfer to instill superior film characteristics, including high gloss value, increased film integrity and enhanced mar resistance without having to resort to the use of VOC's in coating formulations. Thus, in one aspect of the invention, by utilizing the present invention, an aqueous coating composition containing low VOC's or even an absence of VOC's can be generally adapted to a number of printing methods to provide exceptionally favorable transfer, especially including high gloss value.

摘要: The method for dispensing liquid on a substrate includes providing a plate (108) having a plurality apertures (110). These apertures (110) conform to the pattern of a plurality of pads (104, 106) of at least one component of a substrate (102). The apertures (110) are filled with the liquid to be dispensed, and are then aligned with the plurality of pads (104, 106) on the substrate (102). The liquid is simultaneously transferred out of the apertures (110)and onto the plurality of pads (104, 106) using a blower (112 ).

摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus and method for the uniform treatment of the surfaces of a plurality of individual parts when such parts are processed as a single heap by introducing a mass of parts into a vessel where they form a heap; introducing a treatment medium into the vessel; repeatedly separating and dispersing the parts from the heap and then returning the parts back into the heap in during controlled cycles so that all surfaces of the parts to be treated are exposed to and contacted by the treatment medium. While the parts are separated and dispersed from the heap, the treatment medium is forced around, through and out from the parts so that, after a number of cycles, all surfaces of the parts are uniformly treated by said treatment medium. The parts move back and forth between a first position in a lower portion of the vessel and a second position above and radially outward from the first position, whereby movement of the parts between the first and second positions enables all surfaces of the parts to be uniformly treated by the treatment medium. The parts treated by this method constitute another embodiment of the invention.

摘要: Miniature electronic component parts such as capacitors or resistors are end conductively coated by use of a part handling plate having a multiplicity of passageways therethrough with walls coated by resilient material to grip the parts. A bank of pins in a press (a) are used to move the parts in the passageways, (b) are used to load the parts into the passageways through the use of a loading plate housing part receiving openings filled with parts by the use of vibration equipment, and (c) are used to discharge the parts from the passageways into the recesses of an unloading plate. The parts are moved in the passageways first to expose one end to be coated and then second to expose the other end of the parts to be coated.
