Next, first and second half-body portions are formed by a process including forming at least one sheet of formable material between the first and second mold members. The first and second half-body portions are then coupled to form the clamshell component. In alternate embodiments, the coupling of the first and second half-body portions may include forming the flange portions between a pair of heated members, or crimping or welding the flange portions.

A method of making a fabric Venetian blind comprises helical winding of a narrow, elongated strip, which, when properly overlapped and bonded along longitudinal glue lines, will form the vanes and front and rear facings of the blind. The strips may be formed of a single, uniform material, or of adjacent, longitudinally extending portions of relatively opaque and relatively translucent fabric. An alternative embodiment uses the same winding technique to similarly form a structure of only translucent fabric, but with pockets for subsequent insertion of opaque vanes. Several alternative strip configurations and assembly arrangements are disclosed. The disclosed method and structure may also be used to form products for other applications.

An electronic device is enclosed within a package or module having a lid or cover that is sealed with an adhesive preform that has been pre-applied onto the bonding areas of the lid. The adhesive preforms are formed of a wet adhesive with gaps and are B-staged or dried to form dry solid adhesive preforms through chemical cross-linking or solvent removal. Both the lids and the adhesive preforms are formed of electrically insulating or of electrically conductive materials. The lids and adhesive preforms are attached to the electronic package or module by bonding the adhesive preforms at temperatures that are substantially lower than those at which the soldering of conventional lids is typically performed, and the adhesive flows to close the gaps.
