摘要: A cooling device is employed in a vehicle including an internal combustion engine provided with a forced-induction device and an intercooler. The cooling device includes a circulation circuit configured to circulate coolant supplied to the intercooler, an electric pump configured to operate to circulate the coolant in the circulation circuit, and processing circuitry configured to control a discharge amount of the coolant of the pump. The processing circuitry is configured to execute a control amount deriving process of deriving a control amount of the pump based on a requested flow rate and a coolant temperature, and an operation process of causing the pump to operate based on the control amount when the requested flow rate is larger than 0.

摘要: Models that employ both measurable engine parameters as well as predictable engine parameters may be used to determine when a thermostat is malfunctioning before the thermostat malfunction results in an engine breakdown. Particular models may be used to provide an estimated coolant temperature and an estimated thermostat position. The estimated coolant temperature can be compared to an actual measured engine coolant temperature. The estimated thermostat position can be evaluated with respect to what the thermostat position should be given a particular engine coolant temperature. In some cases, comparison between a healthy model and a faulty model may be used to ascertain thermostat health.

摘要: A method and a system for controlling a vehicle cooling system includes: a velocity prediction unit makes a prediction of at least one future velocity profile vpred for the vehicle; a temperature prediction unit predicts at least one future temperature profile Tpred for at least one component in the vehicle, based on at least tonnage for the vehicle; information related to a section of road ahead of the vehicle and on the at least one future velocity profile vpred. A cooling system control unit controls the cooling system based on the at least one future temperature profile Tpred and on a limit value temperature Tcomp_lim for the respective at least one component in the vehicle so that a number of fluctuations of an inlet temperature Tcomp_fluid_in_radiator for the cooling fluid flow into the radiator is reduced and/or so that a magnitude of the flow into the radiator is reduced when a temperature derivative dT/dt for the inlet temperature Tcomp_fluid_in_radiator exceeds a limit value dT/dtlim for the temperature derivative.

摘要: The invention relates to a coolant pump having an impeller which is arranged on a pump impeller shaft and having a drive device for the impeller, which drive device has a mechanical drive and an electric-motor drive. The impeller shaft is divided into a driving section and a driven section, and an openable and closable clutch is arranged between the driving section and the driven section. Operation of the coolant pump by either the mechanical drive or the electric-motor drive can be dependent upon a predetermined speed of threshold of rotation of the impeller, and/or upon a predetermined power usage threshold.
