Abstract: Provided herein is a delivery system, including: (a) an optical sensor configured to detect data to create a map of a patient bodily surface; and (b) a dispenser operatively associated with the optical sensor and configured to deliver compositions (optionally including cells) to the patient bodily surface based upon the data or map. Methods of forming a tissue on a patient bodily surface of a patient in need thereof are also provided, as are methods, systems and computer program products useful for processing patient bodily surface data.

Abstract: Provided herein is an in vitro model of the blood brain barrier. In some embodiments, the model includes: an endothelial cell layer, and brain tissue layer comprising neuronal cells, and optionally one or more of astrocytes, pericytes, oligodendrocytes, and microglia. In some embodiments, the model further comprises a porous membrane between said endothelial cell layer and the neuronal cell layer. A microfluidic device comprising the same and methods of use thereof are also provided.

Abstract: A method of providing a culture of oogonia stem cells comprising oogonia stem cells is provided. The method may further include culturing the oogonia stem cells with granulosa and theca cells to differentiate the oogonia stem cells into oocytes. In some embodiments, the culturing comprises including the oogonia stem cells in an in vitro follicle construct or a microcapsule comprising said granulosa and theca cells. Further described herein is a method of forming a bioengineered follicle construct capable of releasing a mature oocyte. An in vitro fertilization method using the mature oocyte is also provided.

Abstract: Described herein are apparatus, including multi-tissue body-on-a-chip apparatus. In some embodiments, described are apparatus including at least a first, second, and third chamber in fluid communication with one another and with at least one tissue in each chamber, such as, for example, liver tissue in said first chamber; cardiac muscle tissue in said second chamber; and lung tissue in said third chamber; and a common aqueous growth media in said first, second, and third chamber. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a fourth chamber including testicular or ovarian tissue in said fourth chamber. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes an optional fifth or sixth chamber; each said chamber includes different additional tissue selected from the group consisting of vascular endothelial, skeletal muscle, kidney, nerve, brain, and intestinal tissue (e.g., small intestine tissue and/or colon tissue). Also described are methods of using an apparatus of the present invention.

Abstract: The invention is directed to methods and compositions for obtaining uniform sized muscle fiber fragments for transplantation. These muscle fiber fragments are able to reconstitute into long fibers that are oriented along native muscle. The implanted muscle cells integrate with native vascular and neural network, as confirmed by histology and immunohistochemistry. This invention is particularly advantageous because autologous muscle can be harvested from a donor site, processed and injected into target sites in the operating room. The fragmented muscle fibers can be readily integrated within the host.
