Abstract: The present invention provides a fluorine-containing ether compound that can form a lubricating layer which has excellent wear resistance even if the thickness is thin and in which a decrease in film thickness due to spin-off is less likely to occur. The fluorine-containing ether compound is represented by the following formula. R1—R2—O—CH2—R3—CH2—O—R4—R5 (R3 is a perfluoropolyether chain. R1 and R5 are either an alkyl group which may have a substituent or a hydrocarbon group having a double bond or triple bond. R2 and R4 are each a divalent linking group containing one or more heteroatoms, and have one or more polar groups, and the terminal end on the side bonded to R1 and R5 is a heteroatom. At least one of R2 and R4 contains one or more secondary amine structures. At least one of R1—R2— and —R4—R5 contains one or more cyano groups).

Abstract: A compressor is a compressor for a refrigeration cycle apparatus that performs a refrigeration cycle using a refrigerant containing a hydrofluoroolefin and a refrigeration oil containing a polyol ester or a polyvinyl ether. Abstract: A grease composition may contain a base oil (A) and a urea-based thickener (B). Particles containing the urea-based thickener (B) in the grease composition may satisfy requirement (I). The base oil (A) may be a mixed base oil containing a high-viscosity base oil (A1) having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 250 mm2/s to 550 mm2/s, a low-viscosity base oil (A2) having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 5.0 mm2/s to 110 mm2/s, and an ultra-high viscosity hydrocarbon-based synthetic oil (A3) having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of 2,500 to 4,500 and a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 25,000 mm2/s to 50,000 mm2/s. The base oil (A) may have a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 25 mm2/s to 105 mm2/s and a viscosity index of 120 or more. Both low-temperature characteristics and a lubricating life can be achieved.

Abstract: The invention addresses a problem of providing a lubricating oil composition for gas engines capable of suppressing viscosity increase while reducing a sulfated ash content and excellent in high-temperature detergency and base number retention. The lubricating oil composition is used for gas engines and contains a base oil (A), at least one ash-free additive (B) selected from an ash-free sulfur-based antioxidant (B1) and a hindered amine compound (B2), and a boronated imide-type dispersant (C), and satisfies the following requirements (X1) to (X3): Requirement (X1): the sulfated ash content is 0.2% by mass or less. Requirement (X2): the content of the ash-free additive (B) is 1.2% by mass or less based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition, provided that in the case where the ash-free additive (B) contains the hindered amine compound (B2), the content of the hindered amine compound (B2) is less than 1.0% by mass based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition. Requirement (X3): the content of the boron atom derived from the boronated imide-type dispersant (C) is 200 ppm by mass or more based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to polyacrylic acid containing lubricious coatings for medical devices. In an embodiment, a lubricious coated medical device is included having a substrate and a first layer disposed over the substrate. The first layer can include a photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone, a non-photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone, and a crosslinking compound. A second layer can be disposed over the first layer, the second layer can include a poly(acrylic acid), and a non-photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone. The non-photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone of the second layer forms a complex with the poly(acrylic acid) of the second layer. The non-photoreactive polyvinylpyrrolidone of the second layer has a concentration existing as a gradient through a thickness of the second layer with a lower concentration at an outer surface of the second layer than at an inner surface of the second layer. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: Provided is an engine oil lubricant composition with improved fuel efficiency. The engine oil lubricant composition may include: a polyalpha olefin base oil component an amount of about 50 wt % to about 90 wt % based on a total weight of the engine oil lubricant composition, wherein the polyalpha olefin base oil component is a Group IV base oil and has a Noack volatility of about 12.5% to about 15%; a Group II base oil component in an amount of about 0.1 wt % to about 50 wt % based on the total weight of the engine oil lubricant composition. The engine oil lubricant composition may have (i) a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of about 10 cSt or less, (ii) a high temperature high shear viscosity at 150° C. of about 2.2 cP or less, and (iii) a Noack volatility of about 20% or less.

Abstract: A sulfonate-based grease composition and method of manufacture comprising (1) addition of both overbased calcium sulfonate and overbased magnesium sulfonate in a ratio range of 60:40 to 100:1, with the magnesium sulfonate added all at once, a portion prior to conversion and another portion after conversion, and/or one more delay periods between the addition of water or other reactive ingredient and the addition of magnesium sulfonate; (2) one or more delay periods between the addition of at least a portion of a facilitating acid and at least a portion of the next subsequently added ingredient; (3) no conventional non-aqueous converting agents added prior to conversion; or (4) a combination thereof. The grease has a high dropping point and reduced thickener yield.
