摘要: A solvent for polystyrene, having an excellent dissolving ability and chemical stability with no influence on the operating environment, is disclosed. A relatively simple recycling or reutilizing process of both the polystyrene foam and the solvent is also disclosed. The solvent comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of such a glycol ether compound as diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, diethylene glycol diethyl ether or dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether, and such a fatty acid dialkyl ester compound as dimethyl succinate, dimethyl glutarate or dimethyl adipate. These compounds have a flash point of 100.degree. C. or higher, and can be made nonflammable by addition of water.

摘要: The present invention provides a urinalysis apparatus easy to maintain and manage without using any supplies such as the test paper, in which the concentration of an optically active substance in urine is determined by measuring the angle of rotation of the urine. Also, a polarimeter and a urinalysis apparatus which are reliable, compact and inexpensive are provided by using a polarimeter including means for transmitting the polarized light through a specimen, applying a magnetic field to the specimen and detecting the change in the direction of light polarization due to the application of the magnetic field.

摘要: In a transmitting unit, an input signal is converted into an I data sequence of an in-phase (I) symbol and a Q data sequence of a quadrature (Q) symbol, a differential encoding is performed for the I and Q data sequences according to a differential binary phase shift keying (DBPSK) modulation to produce an I code sequence and a Q code sequence, a spectrum of the I code sequence is spread by a first spreading code signal to produce an I spread spectrum signal, a spectrum of the Q code sequence is spread by a second spreading code signal to produce a Q spread spectrum signal, the I and Q spread spectrum signals are quadrature-modulated to a synthesized signal, and the synthesized signal is transmitted to a receiving unit. In the receiving unit, the synthesized signal is quadrature-demodulated to a first baseband signal and a second baseband signal, the first and second baseband signals are respectively correlated with each of the first and second spreading code signals to obtain first and second I correlated signals and first and second Q correlated signals, and a BPSK delay detection is performed for a group of the first and second I correlated signals and a group of the first and second Q correlated signals to reproduce the I and Q data sequences.

摘要: A thermal transfer recording apparatus is disclosed and includes a recording medium sheet formed of a plastic film material having numerous minute voids therein, and a thermal recording sheet formed of a heat resistive base sheet with opposing surfaces and a thermal transfer layer coated onto one of the opposing surfaces of the base sheet. The thermal transfer layer comprises an ink material containing a binder material and being transferable to the recording medium sheet, and particles which are solid at room temperature and are mixed into the transfer layer in order to form minute protrusions on a surface of the thermal transfer layer. The apparatus also includes a heater for raising the temperature of the thermal transfer layer in a controlled manner so as to decrease the viscosity of the thermal transfer layer. The recording medium sheet can, alternatively, be provided with a coated layer coated onto the surface of the plastic film and comprises a coated layer material, and particles which are solid at room temperature and have a diameter greater than the thickness of the coated layer material, so as to provide a roughened surface to the coated layer.
