摘要: A blanket formed from multiple layers including a fabric layer on the top and a base layer on the bottom where the base layer may include a waterproof coating on at least one side. The blanket may also include an insulation layer and an adhesive scrim layer positioned between the fabric layer and the base layer. The layers of the blanket may be attached using a combination of stitching along with an adhesive to form a blanket that is waterproof and is secured together such that the fabric layer does not move relative to the base layer.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention describe secured fiber-reinforced aerogels and laminate structures formed therefrom. In one embodiment a laminate comprises at least one fiber-reinforced aerogel layer adjacent to at least one layer of fiber containing material wherein fibers from said at least one fiber-reinforced aerogel layer are interlaced with fibers of said at least one fiber-containing material. In another embodiment a laminate comprises at least two adjacent fiber-reinforced aerogel layers wherein fibers from at least one fiber-reinforced aerogel layer are interlaced with fibers of an adjacent fiber-reinforced aerogel layer.

摘要: A method for connecting insulation panels, each of the panels comprising a cellulosic web having two sides and an outside edge, and comprising layers of cellulosic fibers, the method comprising:
a) arranging a portion of each panel to be adjacent to the other, thereby forming an edge portion where the two webs can be connected;
b) relaxing the fibers of cellulosic material in the edge portion of each insulation panel by applying heat to the edge portion at a temperature of 150° F. to 450° F., thereby forming a relaxed fiber edge portion;
c) compressing the relaxed fiber edge portion of each insulation panel at a pressure of at least 5 psig, thereby forming a compressed panel portion having a thickness and a density; and
d) fastening the compressed panel portions together using sewing, riveting, adhesive, tape, interlacing, stamping, ply bonding or stapling thereby forming a fastened area,
wherein step (c) can be conducted at the same time or following step (b).-

摘要: The invention pertains to a method for manufacturing a textile product comprising providing a first sheet having a front surface and a back surface, covering the back surface of the sheet with a porous layer having a porosity of 50% to 99%, the layer comprising a thermoplastic material, forming a pile on the front surface of first sheet by stitching one or more yarns through the first sheet, the one or more yarns having a free end that forms the said pile and a locked end that extends into the porous layer, thereby forming an intermediate product, processing the intermediate product by feeding this product along a body having a heated surface, the porous layer being pressed against the said heated surface, to melt at least a fraction of the thermoplastic material, cooling the molten fraction of the thermoplastic, thereby connecting the locked end of the one or more yarns to the first sheet, and optionally connecting a second sheet to the processed intermediate product, using an adhesive applied between the processed surface of the intermediate product and the second sheet. The invention also pertains to a primary backing for use in this method and to a method for manufacturing this primary backing.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a fluid-filled chamber with a tensile element includes manufacturing a tensile element and incorporating the tensile element into a chamber. A first material layer, a second material layer, and a spacing structure having a plurality of support portions and a plurality of gaps may be stacked. The material layers may be located on either side of the spacing structure or on one side of the spacing structure. A strand may be stitched through the gaps to join the material layers and to form the tensile element. The spacing structure may be removed, and the first material layer may be spaced from the second material layer such that segments of the strand extend between the material layers. The tensile element may then be secured to opposite interior surfaces of an outer barrier, and the outer barrier may be pressurized to place the strand in tension.
