Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress emission from becoming worse when imbalance occurs between a plurality of cylinders of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A control device (100) for an internal combustion engine comprises: a control means (23) which uniformly implements feedback control of an air-fuel ratio in accordance with output from at least one of first and second air-fuel ratio sensors (21, 22); an imbalance cylinder identification means (23) which specifies a cylinder in which imbalance occurs, from among a plurality of cylinders (11) if the air-fuel ratio imbalance occurs; and a storage means (23) which stores therein beforehand information relating to gas contact of exhaust gas to each of the first and second air-fuel ratio sensors if the imbalance occurs. In the case where the imbalance occurs, on the basis of the cylinder where the imbalance occurs and the information relating to the gas contact, on a condition that considerable deterioration in emission is estimated as a result of implementing the feedback control, the control means implements feed forward control in place of the feedback control.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit deterioration of a part on an exhaust side of an internal combustion engine due to high temperature, and to inhibit emission of nitrogen oxide further and improve fuel economy while continuing appropriate combustion. SOLUTION: When an intake air quantity GA is not greater than a flow rate GAref, an EGR quantity Vb re-circulated into an intake pipe 125 is controlled by a small EGR valve 153. When an intake air quantity GA exceeds the predetermined flow rate GAref and the catalyst bed temperature Tcat exceeds a first temperature Tref1, the flow rate of an EGR gas recirculated by at least a large EGR valve 154 is controlled. Finer flow rate adjustment is performed when the intake air quantity GA is not greater than the flow rate GAref in this manner. When the intake air quantity GA exceeds the flow rate GAref and the catalyst bed temperature Tcat exceeds the first temperature Tref1, since the EGR gas of the flow rate greater than that by the small EGR valve 153 is recirculated, for example, fuel increase for reducing the temperature of exhaust emission control catalyst of the cleaning device 134 can be inhibited. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly perform idle learning of an internal combustion engine while being disconnected from a drive shaft on the subsequent stage side in a device for connecting the output shaft of the internal combustion engine through a device for performing an operating action and a device having a clutch function disconnecting it from the drive shaft on the subsequent stage side. SOLUTION: The idle learning of the engine is prohibited when a shift position SP is at N and motors MG1, MG2 are not steadily driven (S230). The idle learning of the engine is permitted when the shift position SP is not at N or the motors MG1, MG2 are steadily driven though the shift position SP is at N (S240). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly change opening/closing timing of a valve after starting an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: When a start request for an engine is made, if an oil temperature Toil is not high in S140, a power output device sets a spark start number of rotations Nstart of the engine to a first number of rotations N1 in S150. If the oil temperature Toil is high, since the viscosity of operation oil is low and the oil pressure is slow in increasing, the device sets the number Nstart of the engine to a second number of rotations N2 larger the first number of rotations N1 in S160. By setting torque commands Tm1* and Tm2* using the number Nstart set in such a manner to transmit them to motors MG1, MG2 and by motoring the engine, the device surely unlocks a lock pin of a variable valve timing mechanism from a locking hole even when the oil temperature Toil is high. Therefore, the device can smoothly change the valve timing of an air intake valve after starting the engine. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation in emission immediately after the starting of an internal combustion engine having a cylinder fuel injection valve. SOLUTION: When an engine is started in a condition that a start water temperature Twst is less than a predetermined temperature Tref, a value with a vehicle demand power P* limited by regarding a power limit Pemax1 as an upper limit is set to an engine demand power Pe* (S140-S170) so that the fuel injection amount of the cylinder fuel injection valve is limited until a piston top surface temperature Test1 becomes a predetermined temperature T1 or more for sufficiently vaporizing and completely burning fuel ejected from the cylinder fuel injection valve toward a piston top surface. A torque command Tm2* is set (S200-S220) to output a required torque Tr* to a driving shaft within a range of battery input/output limit Win, Wout, and an engine and a motor are controlled. Thereby, degradation in emission is suppressed which is caused by incomplete combustion of fuel ejected from the cylinder fuel injection valve while corresponding to the required torque Tr*. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain variation in an air-fuel ratio of an internal combustion engine in starting or just after starting. SOLUTION: When the engine is started first after starting of the system, closing of an exhaust switch valve is instructed so that all of gas introduced into an exhaust system is delivered through HC absorber (S100), and cranking of the engine 22 is started after confirming of closing of the exhaust switch valve (S110 to S130), and fuel injection control and ignition control is started so that fuel injection is started from a fuel injection valve when predetermined time passes after starting of cranking, and the engine is started (S170). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more properly and quickly start an internal combustion engine while preventing an error in opening a cylinder fuel injection valve at starting the internal combustion engine having the cylinder fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into a cylinder. SOLUTION: An opening/closing timing VVT is delayed and a throttle opening TH is throttled when starting cranking of the engine with small torque Tlow. After fuel pressure Pf to be supplied to the cylinder fuel injection valve gets to a determined value or greater which is greater than pressure such that the valve closing holding pressure of the cylinder fuel injection valve to cylinder compression pressure Pin, the cranking with normal cranking torque Tset and the delay of the opening/closing timing VVT are started, the throttle of the throttle opening TH is cancelled, and fuel injection from the cylinder fuel injection valve is started. Thus, the fuel pressure Pf quickly gets to pressure or greater such that the valve closing holding pressure is added to the cylinder compression pressure Pin and an error in opening the cylinder fuel injection valve is prevented. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of gear noise sounds in the drive system of an internal combustion engine, the occurrence of vibration in the internal combustion engine and the occurrence of muffled sounds in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine when a vehicle velocity is relatively low when the internal combustion engine capable of executing individual air-fuel ratio control is mounted on a vehicle.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine includes a plurality of combustion chambers. The internal combustion engine includes a control apparatus for the internal combustion engine is mounted on a vehicle. On the basis of the air-fuel ratio of mixed gas formed in a specific combustion chamber that is at least one of the combustion chambers, the control apparatus is capable of executing individual air-fuel ratio control for controlling the air-fuel ratio of mixed gas formed in a non-specific combustion chamber other than the specific combustion chamber so that the average air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine is coincident with a target air-fuel ratio. When the speed of the vehicle is lower than a predetermined speed, the execution of the individual air-fuel ratio control is prohibited.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly start an engine, and to prevent the deterioration of exhaust air aspect in a vehicle which is loaded with an internal-combustion engine equipped with a direct injection injector and an intake path injection injector and which controls engine intermittent operation. SOLUTION: When the operation of a vehicle ends, the fuel pressure of a high pressure delivery pipe 130 and a low pressure delivery pipe 160 is decreased due to the operation (release) of an electromagnetic relief valve 210 and the operation stop of a low pressure fuel pump 180, so that it is possible to prevent the deterioration of exhaust air aspect when an engine starts the next time due to fuel leakage by the deterioration of oil density in each injector 110 and 120 during the operation stop period. On the other hand, when the engine temporarily stops due to engine intermittent operation control, a low pressure fuel pump 180 is stopped, and the operation (release) of the electromagnetic relief valve 210 is inhibited. When the engine restarts after its temporary stop, the engine is made to quickly start by fuel injection in a high pressure delivery pipe 130 whose fuel pressure is secured, considering the rise of the temperature of the engine.
