There is provided a resin composition for a machinable liner of a sliding member. An ultraviolet curable resin composition for a self-lubricating liner contains a (meth)acrylate compound having an isocyanuric acid ring represented by the following formula and PTFE as a solid lubricant. In the formula (1), X is a group which contains an acryloyl group and is composed only of C, H, and O. Y and Z are groups each composed only of C, H, and O. PTFE is contained in an amount of 10 to 50% by weight with respect to a total amount of the ultraviolet curable resin composition. The ultraviolet curable resin composition is suitable for a self-lubricating liner 24 of a spherical bearing 20 having an outer race 22 and an inner race 26.

There is provided an antioxidant agent capable of preventing scale from being produced on the surface of a heated metallic starting material more effectively than the conventional antioxidant agent. The antioxidant agent according to the present invention contains a plurality of glass frits having different softening points and an inorganic compound having a melting point not higher than 600° C. The inorganic compound mainly softens in the low-temperature range of about 600° C. The plurality of glass frits mainly soften in the low-temperature range of about 600 to 1300° C. Therefore, the antioxidant agent covers the surface of metallic starting material in a broad temperature range, oxidizes the surface of metallic starting material, and prevents the production of scale.

Disclosed are corrosion-inhibiting lubricant compositions and methods of making and using the compositions. The lubricant compositions contain petroleum based components, corrosion-inhibiting additives and a cationic surfactant. In some embodiments, the lubricant compositions also contain nano diamonds. Under standard salt fog tests, compositions exhibited 120 or 168 hours to failure, or 0-20% rust at 192 hours. Under standard wear preventative characteristics tests, compositions exhibited as low as 0.55 mm wear. Also disclosed are a device and method for aerosol delivery of a corrosion-inhibiting lubricant.

With the mass of the sum of the first component, the second component, and the third component as 100 mass %, the anti-seizure agent contains: 96.5 mass % or more and 99.98 mass % or less of the first component; 0.01 mass % or more and 2.0 mass % or less of the second component; and 0.01 mass % or more and 1.5 mass % or less of the third component, and the inorganic component is one or more selected from a group consisting of Al2O3, SiO2, CaO, B2O3, K2O, and Na2O. A coating layer formed after application solidly adheres to the steel and does not come off in the environment of both cold and hot working.

In one embodiment, a substrate, for example a tool used in hot metalforming operations, is coated with an enamel nanoparticulate graded coating. The nanoparticles in the coating may be boron-nitride nanoparticles. The coating may include a first portion adjacent a surface of the substrate, and a second portion adjacent the first portion. The first portion of the coating may have a lower volume fraction of nanoparticles than the second portion. The first portion has excellent adhesion to the surface of the substrate, and the second portion reduces friction and wear. The coated tool may be formed by applying at least one layer of a coating mixture to a surface of the tool and heating the coating mixture. A metal workpiece may be formed into an article by contacting the metal workpiece against the coated surface of the tool.
