摘要: The invention describes a light emitting device (100). The light emitting device (100) comprises at least one light emitting structure (110), at least one processing layer (120) and at least one optical structure (130). The optical structure (130) comprises at least one material processed by means of processing light (150). The at least one processing layer (120) is arranged to reduce reflection of the processing light (150) in a direction of the optical structure (130) at least by 50%, preferably at least by 80%, more preferably at least by 95% and most preferably at least by 99% during processing of the material by means of the processing light (150). It is a basic idea of the present invention to incorporate a non- or low-reflective processing layer (120) on top of a light emitting structure (110) like a VCSEL array in order to enable on wafer processing of light emitting structures (130) like microlens arrays. The invention further describes a method of manufacturing such a light emitting device (100).

摘要: An optical module includes a semiconductor laser with an active layer disproportionately positioned closer to the first surface. The semiconductor laser includes a reflector for reflecting the light outgoing from the active layer in a direction along the first surface toward another direction. The active layer and the reflector are monolithically integrated in the semiconductor laser. The optical module includes a carrier formed from a light transmissive material and having a third surface and a fourth surface opposite to each other. The semiconductor laser is mounted on the carrier so as for the light to enter the third surface. The carrier has a lens integrally on the fourth surface. The optical module includes a substrate having an optical waveguide and an optical coupler for guiding the light to the optical waveguide. The optical waveguide and the optical coupler are integrated in the substrate.

摘要: A side-view light emitting laser element includes a support substrate, a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer, and a light emitting multilayer unit sandwiched between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. The first electrode layer is disposed on the support substrate. The second electrode layer is disposed on the first electrode layer. The light emitting multilayer unit includes a first semiconductor layer, a second semiconductor layer and an activating layer sandwiched between the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer. A first refractive index of the first electrode layer and a second refractive index of the second electrode layer are between 1 and 0, respectively.

摘要: An optical-coherence-tomography apparatus includes a light-source unit configured to emit light while changing a wavelength of the light; an optical interferometric system configured to split the light from the light-source unit into illuminating light to be applied to an object and reference light, and to generate interfering light from the illuminating light reflected by the object and the reference light; a photodetection unit configured to receive the interfering light, and an information-acquiring unit configured to acquire information on the object from the interfering light received by the photodetection unit. The light-source unit performs wavelength sweep by displacing a movable portion with an electrostatic force generated with the application of a voltage. The optical-coherence-tomography apparatus further includes a pull-in-detection unit configured to detect whether or not a pull-in effect is occurring on the movable portion of the light-source unit.

摘要: A laser structure comprising a first photonic crystal surface emitting laser (PCSEL), a second PCSEL, and a coupling region that extends between the first PCSEL and the second PCSEL along a longitudinal axis and that is electrically controllable so as to be capable of coherently coupling the first PCSEL to the second PCSEL. Each PCSEL include an active layer, a photonic crystal, and a two-dimensional periodic array distributed in an array plane parallel to the longitudinal axis within the photonic crystal where the two-dimensional periodic array is formed of regions having a refractive index that is different to the surrounding photonic crystal.

摘要: Provided is a semiconductor laser device including a plurality of semiconductor laser units LDC that are capable of being independently driven, and a spatial light modulator SLM that is optically coupled to a group of the plurality of semiconductor laser units LDC. Each of the semiconductor laser units includes a pair of clad layers having an active layer 4 interposed therebetween, and a diffractive lattice layer 6 that is optically coupled to the active layer 4. The semiconductor laser device includes a ¼ wavelength plate 26 that is disposed between a group of the active layers 4 of the plurality of semiconductor laser units LDC and a reflection film 23, and a polarizing plate 27 that is disposed between the group of the active layers 4 of the plurality of semiconductor laser units LDC and a light emitting surface.

摘要: A horizontal cavity surface emitting laser device includes an active layer configured to generate light to be emitted in one direction along the one surface of a semiconductor substrate and in another direction opposite to the one direction. The device also includes a rear distributed Bragg reflector unit configured to reflect the light. The rear distributed Bragg reflector unit includes a waveguide layer configured to guide light and a distributed Bragg reflector configured to reflect the light in the waveguide layer. The device further includes an optical component configured to guide, in a direction different from the one direction and the other direction, the light emitted from an end of the rear distributed Bragg reflector unit in the one direction. The device further includes a front reflecting mirror configured to reflect the light emitted from the active layer in the other direction toward another surface side of the semiconductor substrate.
