摘要: In a diesel engine equipped with an injector 1 having a plurality of intersections between an axis line of the injector 1 and the axes of injection holes 10a bored in the injector 1, an air intake valve 25 is controlled so that it is closed at timing before a BDC (at timing when a piston comes to a bottom dead center) by an ECU 50, which controls the timing of closing the air intake valve 25 based on operating conditions of the engine.

摘要: A diesel internal combustion engine that is operated advantageously at least predominantly according to the diesel principle, with a multi-fuel adaptation unit that reacts to various fuels of different mixtures and adapts an operating mode of the internal combustion engine to these fuels, wherein the multi-fuel adaptation unit comprises at least the following elements: a fuel characterization, a combustion-chamber filling that can be adapted as a function of a characteristic fuel, external ignition that can be allocated to each cylinder of the internal combustion engine, at least one control device that implements a first control strategy in which, in a lower load range, external ignition is performed, and a second control strategy in which automatic ignition is performed in a load range that is higher relative to the lower load range, a combustion-point control that can be adapted automatically to the characterized fuel, and a conversion-rate control that can be adapted automatically to the characterized fuel.

摘要: There is provided, in one aspect of the present description, an internal combustion engine system. In one example, the system comprises a controller configured to control an intake valve closing timing varying mechanism to vary a closing timing of the intake valve to regulate air charged in a combustion chamber in accordance with engine operating conditions and, in a first engine operating condition where a least volume of air is required to be charged into the combustion chamber, retard a closing timing of the intake valve to a most retarded crank angle which is after bottom dead center during a cylinder cycle and satisfies the following formulas: α≧−0.2685×ε02+10.723×ε0+15.815 and ε0≧11.0, where α is the most retarded crank angle and ε0 is a geometric compression ratio of the engine.

摘要: An ammonia selective reduction-type NOx catalyst (48) is interposed in an exhaust passage of an engine (2) installed in a series-type hybrid electric vehicle (1), and a urea-water injector (62) for supplying urea water in the upstream side of the ammonia selective reduction-type NOx catalyst (48) is placed in the exhaust passage. The engine (2) started in response to a storage state of a battery (8) is operated in a first operation mode, and urea water supply is suspended, until exhaust temperature reaches predetermined temperature (Ta). Once the exhaust temperature reaches the predetermined temperature (Ta), the engine (2) is operated in a second operation mode, and urea water is supplied from the urea-water injector (62). While the engine (2) is operated in the first operation mode, NOx emissions from the engine (2) are more decreased than in the second operation mode.

摘要: To prevent inflow of condensed water to an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve, an exhaust gas recirculation system includes a first gas passage, an exhaust gas recirculation valve connected to the first gas passage and selectively opening/closing the first gas passage, an exhaust gas passage disposed in the exhaust gas recirculation valve, and a second gas passage connecting the exhaust gas passage to an air-fuel mixture passage. The exhaust gas passage is tilted at an obtuse angle with respect to the second gas passage. The angle may be less than about 170°, and in some embodiments the angle is about 165°.
