摘要: A system capable of connecting a device to a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) using an adapter. The adapter may connect to the PSTN and send audio data between the PSTN and a server via a data network, enabling the device to communicate over the PSTN. In addition, the adapter enables a telephone connected to a home telephone circuit to perform voice commands, by sending audio data from the telephone to the server and the server determining voice commands included in the audio data. In addition, the system may enable additional functionality for the home telephone circuit, such as three way calling, avoiding charge calls, detecting outgoing alarm signals and triggering an alarm response, monitoring call statistics of telephone calls and sending intercom signals to telephones connected to the home telephone circuit.

摘要: A cooling system is provided for a 3D integrated circuit (IC) to deliver fluid in x, y, and z dimensions to interior regions of the IC as a means to regulate heat. An IC includes a microfluidic network of channels, at least one sensor and at least one microelectromechanical system (MEMS)-based device that is disposed within the network of channels and that is configured to regulate a flow of fluid within the network of channels. Each sensor monitors a state of the IC. Each MEMS-based device receives control signals based on a state of the IC and regulates a flow of fluid within the network of channels based on control signals that area received on a real-time basis based on changes detected in a state of the IC.

摘要: A method for controlling and adjusting fans of the electronic apparatus is disclosed and comprises following steps: controlling a fan to operate according to a default value after an electronic apparatus is booted; obtaining operating watt value of a CPU after detecting that the temperature of the CPU reaches a set-point; inquiring one of a learning table and a pre-established neural-network data array for obtaining a PWM value and P,I,D parameters corresponding to the operating watt value; performing an error adjustment process to the obtained PWM value through a PID controller; controlling the operation of the fan according to the adjusted PWM value; storing the adjusted PWM value to the learning table if the temperature of the CPU equals the set-point; and, continuing to obtain, adjust and store the PWM value to continuously control the operation of the fan before the electronic apparatus is powered off.

摘要: An instrument for performing highly accurate PCR employing an assembly, a heated cover, and an internal computer, is provided. The assembly is made up of a sample block, a number of Peltier thermal electric devices, and a heat sink, clamped together. A control algorithm manipulates the current supplied to thermoelectric coolers such that the dynamic thermal performance of a block can be controlled so that pre-defined thermal profiles of sample temperature can be executed. The sample temperature is calculated instead of measured using a design specific model and equations. The control software includes calibration diagnostics which permit variation in the performance of thermoelectric coolers from instrument to instrument to be compensated for such that all instruments perform identically. The block/heat sink assembly can be changed to another of the same or different design. The assembly carries the necessary information required to characterize its own performance in an on-board memory device, allowing the assembly to be interchangeable among instruments while retaining its precision operating characteristics.

摘要: A thermostat for controlling an HVAC system is described, the thermostat having a user interface that is visually pleasing, approachable, and easy to use while also providing ready access to, and intuitive navigation within, a menuing system capable of receiving a variety of different types of user settings and/or control parameters. For some embodiments, the thermostat comprises a housing, a ring-shaped user-interface component configured to track a rotational input motion of a user, a processing system configured to identify a setpoint temperature value based on the tracked rotational input motion, and an electronic display coupled to the processing system. An interactive thermostat menuing system is accessible to the user by an inward pressing of the ring-shaped user interface component. User navigation within the interactive thermostat menuing system is achievable by virtue of respective rotational input motions and inward pressings of the ring-shaped user interface component.

The auxiliary box includes a large number of wiring terminals, for example 16 or more, for connecting to a relatively large number of HVAC control wires. The auxiliary box can include a “train map” type graphic display that is visible to the installer and provides a graphical indication as to which relays or switches are currently open and which are currently closed. A small sleek visually pleasing thermostat is also described that can be connected either directly to an HVAC system or to the auxiliary box, and can automatically detect an purpose the connected wires according to which it is connected to.

The thermostat includes a frustum-shaped shell body having a circular cross-section and a sidewall extending between first and second ends, the second end being user-facing when the thermostat is wall-mounted; a circular rotatable ring being user rotatable for adjusting a setting of the thermostat; and a circular cover including a clear circular center portion surrounded by a painted outer portion. The clear circular center portion permits a corresponding circular portion of a non-circular dot-matrix color display element to be visible through the circular cover and the painted outer portion masks a remaining portion of the non-circular dot-matrix color display element so as to create a circular graphical user interface.
