Abstract:
The present invention relates to a porous metal organic framework comprising a bidentate organic compound coordinated to a metal ion selected from the group of metals consisting of Al, Fe and Cr, with the bidentate organic compound being derived from a dicarboxylic acid, wherein the framework has a structure whose projection along [001] has a pattern in which each side of a hexagon is bounded by a triangle. The present invention further relates to shaped bodies and a process for preparing the porous metal organic framework and its use.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a catalyst support, in which one or more fibres are fed into a mould, said fibre having a diameter in the range of 5-300 microns, and a length over diameter ratio greater than 500. The body in the mould is compressed and then contacted with a mixture comprising a liquid and a carrier material. The liquid is removed from the wetted body to provide a catalyst support comprising an entangled fibre and carrier material. A catalyst can be made using the same process and additionally adding a catalytically active metal with the mixture comprising a liquid and a carrier material. Alternatively a catalyst can be made using the process for manufacturing a catalyst support followed by impregnation with a catalytically active metal.
Abstract:
This invention relates to the field of heterogeneous catalysis, and more particularly to catalysts including carbon supports having formed thereon compositions which comprise a transition metal in combination with nitrogen and/or carbon. The invention further relates to the fields of catalytic oxidation and dehydrogenation reactions, including the preparation of secondary amines by the catalytic oxidation of tertiary amines and the preparation of carboxylic acids by the catalytic dehydrogenation of alcohols.
Abstract:
A process for selectively making 2-alkenes from a NAO using a mesoporous catalyst that has been surface modified with a Brönsted acid compound. The Brönsted acid compound has a reactive silane connector, an organic linking group, and a Brönsted acid group. The mesoporous catalyst has an average pore diameter in a range of about 12 to about 100 Angstroms and a surface area of between about 400 to about 1400 m2/gram.
Abstract:
A method to obtain a catalyst of transition metals supported on a carbonaceous material, via impregnation, with a solution of metal-thiourea complex, obtained from precursor salts. The formation of the sulfur on the surface of the support occurs through the thermal decomposition of the complex. The obtained catalysts are applicable toward the direct liquefaction of coal.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a method capable of producing a cycloalkanol and/or a cycloalkanone with a favorable selectivity coefficient by oxidizing a cycloalkane with a favorable conversion ratio.Disclosed is a method for producing a cycloalkanol and/or a cycloalkanone, which comprises oxidizing a cycloalkane with oxygen in the presence of a mesoporous silica which contains at least one transition metal and has been also subjected to contact treatment with an amine and/or ammonia. Preferably, a crystal obtained by mixing a compound containing the metal, a silicon compound, a structure-directing agent and water is subjected to contact treatment with an amine and/or ammonia and then fired to obtain a mesoporous silica, and a cycloalkane is oxidized with oxygen in the presence of the mesoporous silica.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a process for hydrogenating one or more organic compounds especially unsaturated organic compounds by bringing the compound into contact with a hydrogen-containing gas in the presence of a catalyst, which comprises one or more catalytically active metals applied to a porous catalyst support. The one or more catalytically active metals having been derived via a decomposed organic complex of the metal on the support, in particular amine complexes of the metal. The decomposed complex may be treated with hydrogen to activate the catalyst before use as a hydrogenation catalyst.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of a metal-doped support material. The metal-doped support material comprises at least one metal in elemental form on at least one support material which is based on carbon by gas-phase deposition of at least one compound comprising the at least one metal in the oxidation state 0 in combination with carbon monoxide on the at least one support material and thermal decomposition of the at least one compound comprising the at least one metal in the oxidation state 0 in order to obtain the at least one metal in elemental form. During and after the deposition and the decomposition, the support material is not brought into contact with reducing compounds during the preparation.
Abstract:
Compositions useful for treating the exhaust gases of diesel engines contain zirconium oxide, silicon oxide and at least one oxide of at least one element M selected from among titanium, aluminum, tungsten, molybdenum, cerium, iron, tin, zinc, and manganese, in the following mass proportions of these different elements: silicon oxide: 5%-30%; M-element oxide: 1%-20%; the balance being zirconium oxide; such compositions also have an acidity, as measured by the methylbutynol test, of at least 90% and are prepared by placing a zirconium compound, a silicon compound, at least one M-element compound and a basic compound in a liquid medium, thereby generating a precipitate, maturing the precipitate in a liquid medium and separating and calcining the precipitate.
