    摘要: A semiconductor optical integrated device includes a substrate having a main surface with a first and second regions arranged along a waveguiding direction; a gain region including a first cladding layer, an active layer, and a second cladding layer arranged on the first region of the main surface; and a wavelength control region including a third cladding layer, an optical waveguide layer, and a fourth cladding layer arranged on the second region of the main surface and including a heater arranged along the optical waveguide layer. The substrate includes a through hole extending from a back surface of the substrate in the thickness direction and reaching the first region. A metal member is arranged in the through hole. The metal member extends from the back surface of the substrate in the thickness direction and is in contact with the first cladding layer.

    摘要: A multi-layer printed circuit board includes an embedded capacitor substrate composed of a power source conductor layer and a ground conductor layer, the layers being disposed close to each other. The power source conductor layer has a first power source plane to supply power to a circuit element, and a second power source plane that is separated from the first power source plane by a gap and functions as a main power source. The first power source plane is partially connected to the second power source plane by a connecting line. The ground conductor layer has an opening at a position overlapping with a projected image when the connecting line is projected on the ground conductor layer. This structure suppresses propagation of the noise caused at the circuit element and reduces radiation noise in the printed circuit board.

The contact electrode part is formed on the electrical parts mounting base board. The direct current motor further includes a pair of electrode brushes in sliding contact with the contact electrode part of the commutator and configured to supply electric power to the rotor coils though the commutator.

    摘要: An image-recording apparatus includes a display unit for displaying an image photographed by an sensing device, an illuminating unit for emitting light by discharging charges charged in a capacitor on photographing, a power source unit in which any one of plural kinds of power sources is selectively usable, and a power source detector to detect which kind of the power source is being used in the power source unit. Displaying on the display unit and charging of the capacitor are performed by using the power source in the power source unit. When the power source detector detects that the power source unit uses a specified kind of the power source, the display unit is operated even during charging the capacitor, whereas when the power source detector detects that the power source other than said specified one is being used in the power source detector unit, the display unit is set in no operation during charging the capacitor.

    摘要: The present invention provides an optical device integrating an active device with a passive device without any butt joint structure between two devices. The optical integrated device of the invention includes a GaAs substrate, first and second cladding layers, and an active layer sandwiched by the first and second cladding layers. These layers are disposed on the GaAs substrate. The GaAs substrate provides a first region and a second region. The active layer comprises of the first active layer disposed on the first region and the second active layer disposed on the second region of the GaAs substrate. The first active layer has a quantum well structure whose band-gap energy smaller than 1.3 eV, while the second active layer has a quantum well structure whose band-gap energy is greater than that of the first active layer.

    摘要: The present invention is to provide an optical integrated device formed on the GaAs substrate and with reduced dispersion of the optical coupling of the but-joint between the active and the passive devices. The GaAs substrate of the invention is divided into two regions, and the lower cladding layer extends over both regions. The active layer, having a quantum well structure with band-gap energy smaller than 1.3 eV, is arranged of the lower cladding layer in the first region, while the GaAs core layer is also arranged on the lower cladding layer but in the second region thereof. Thus, the cure layer may optically couple with the active layer.

    摘要: An automatic document transportation device includes a document tray, a document discharge tray, a transportation path, a document feed roller, a separating pad, transportation rollers, a Charge Coupled Device (CCD) scanning unit, a Contact Image Sensor (CIS) scanning unit and document discharge rollers. The document tray and the document discharge tray are provided vertically in two stages. The transportation path is formed in the sideways letter-U shape from the document tray to the document discharge tray. The document feed roller and the separating pad are provided in proximity to an inlet of the transportation path, and separate original documents by nipping the original documents in a thickness direction. The transportation rollers nip and transport the original document. The CCD scanning unit is provided directly downstream of a U-turn part of the transportation path and scans a first side of the transported original document. The CIS scanning unit is provided at downstream of the CCD scanning unit and scans a second side of the original document. The document discharge rollers nip and discharged the scanned original document. In a lateral cross-section of the automatic document transportation device, the CIS scanning unit is provided between and below the separating pad and the transportation roller provided directly downstream of the separating pad, and between the CCD scanning unit and the document discharge rollers.
