Abstract:
Systems, methods, and apparatus embodiments for electric power grid and network registration and management of physical and financial settlement for participation of active grid elements in supply and/or curtailment of power, wherein Internet Protocol (IP)-based messages including IP packets are generated by transforming raw data content into settlement grade content. Settlement is provided for grid elements that participate in the electric power grid following initial registration of each grid element with the system, preferably through network-based communication between the grid elements and a coordinator, either in coordination with or outside of an IP-based communications network router. Messaging related to settlement is managed through a network by a Coordinator using IP messaging for communication with the grid elements, with the energy management system (EMS), and with the utilities, market participants, and/or grid operators.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides, among other things, various systems and methods for battery remediation in connection with electric powered mobile things (EPMTs). A representative method, among others, is implemented in a computer system (EPMT-CS) associated with the EPMT and can be summarized by the following steps: monitoring electric power capacity (EPC) associated with locomotion of the EPMT; monitoring travel data relating to the EPMT; engaging in a communication session with a remote host computer system (H-CS) based upon the EPC monitoring; requesting assistance of a battery remediation station (BRS) during the communication session; communicating location information relating to the EPMT during the communication session so that the BRS can visit and remediate (recharge, repair, or replace) a battery associated with the EPMT. Upon receiving this information, the H-CS can contact and dispatch the BRS to visit the EPMT. A representative system, among others, comprises an EPMT-CS that is programmed or designed to perform the foregoing steps.
Abstract:
A method comprises connecting to a charging server; connecting to an authorization management system; receiving a charging request from a charging server, the charging request identifying an electric charging device requested to be used to charge an electric vehicle; transmitting an authorization request to the authorization management system for the electric charging device to be used to charge the electric vehicle; receiving an authorization response from the authorization management system authorizing the electric charging device to be used to charge the electric vehicle; and transmitting an authorization instruction to the charging server to charge the electric vehicle using the electric charging device.
Abstract:
Techniques herein provide wireless energy transfer to audio devices such as headphones, headsets, hearing aids, and the like. Audio devices are integrated with a device resonator. The device resonator may be positioned and oriented to reduce interaction with lossy or sensitive components of the audio device. A repeater resonator and/or a source resonator is integrated into a headrest of a seat or a chair providing continuous power to the headphones while in use. The audio devices may be recharged wirelessly when positioned near source resonators that may be embedded in pads, tables, carrying cases, cups, and the like.
Abstract:
The Energy Uploader is a device using several components to achieve it's end result. The Energy Uploader operates in conjunction with any motor vehicles 12-volt dc charging system and works independently of the vehicles primary electrical system to produce 120-volt ac electrical energy that can be used or sold to the public utility power grid when the car is shut off.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a fastener mechanism, optionally comprising a shield. The fastener mechanism is intended for use in preferably cylindrical cavities, such as sewers. It comprises adjustable engagement means for engagement with the inner sides of the cavity; and an activation unit for adjusting the engagement means to the effect that they can be adjusted between a first position in which they are in engagement with the inner sides of the cavity, and a second position in which the engagement means allow introduction of the fastener mechanism into the cavity.
Abstract:
A method for providing demand response information to a user of an electric vehicle is provided. The method includes receiving demand response data. A plurality of energy prices based on the demand response data is then generated by a processor, wherein each energy price is associated with a time range. The plurality of energy prices are then presented to a user of the electric vehicle.
Abstract:
A computer manages network based preferences associated with charging transactions for electric vehicles. A network based energy preference service receives a request for a set of preferences for an identified principal having an interest in the charging transaction and associated with a charging transaction for an electric vehicle from a preference requesting service over a network connection. The charging transaction is a transaction associated with at least one of charging the electric vehicle, storing electric power in an electric storage mechanism associated with the electric vehicle, and de-charging the electric vehicle. The network based energy preference service retrieves the set of preferences from a data storage device associated with the preference service. A preference in the set of preferences specifies a parameter of the charging transaction that is to be minimized, maximized, or optimized. A vehicle transaction planner sends the set of preferences to the preference requesting service.
Abstract:
One embodiment relates to a hybrid vehicle drive system for a vehicle including a first prime mover, a first prime mover driven transmission, a rechargeable power source, and a PTO. The hybrid vehicle drive system further includes a hydraulic motor in direct or indirect mechanical communication with the PTO and an electric motor in direct or indirect mechanical communication with the hydraulic motor. The electric motor can provide power to the prime mover driven transmission and receive power from the prime mover driven transmission through the PTO. The hydraulic motor can provide power to the prime mover driven transmission and receive power from the prime mover driven transmission through the PTO.
Abstract:
An electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) that includes an electric vehicle charger adapted to provide electrical power to a vehicle; a network device adapted to communicate with a wireless network; and a point of sale device coupled to the electric vehicle charger and the network device. The point of sale device is adapted to facilitate consumer purchases of the electrical power and items other than the electrical power. The point of sale device includes: a user interface including a touch screen display, a credit card reader, a bar code reader, and a magnetic card reader, and a printer; a processor; and an application for execution on the processor to implement a method. The method includes: receiving a request from a consumer via the user interface; processing the request; and outputting a status of the request via the user interface.
