Abstract:
This system provides wired and/or wireless access throughout a multimedia network built on a distributed architecture which can be transparent to the user. This multimedia network includes content which is imported or generated within the network. The system allows for the content provider to determine the license status of content and update the license status of content which was previously provided by that provider. The external content can be accessed in real time or downloaded and stored within the system for later access at the convenience of the user. The usage of some content is controlled by the use of encryption and other protection methods. The system allows for storage of live video by storing the digitized video and allowing the user to control how, when and where the content is viewed. The system makes available multiple multimedia services to all users in the network or connected via the internet.
Abstract:
In some embodiments a content delivery system for controlling media content provided by at least one media device for media consumption by at least one consumer is described. In an embodiment the system comprises at least one sensor for sensing body data of the at least one consumer, a receiver for receiving sensed body data from the sensor, a data store storing media content for selection, at least one media device for outputting said selected content to said at least one consumer, and at least one processor configured to query said data store and control the selection of said media content based at least in part on the sensed body data, and control the output of said selected media content to said at least one media device. The sensed body data may indicate the mood or emotional state of the consumer.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes: a voice input receiver configured to receive a voice input of user; a signal processor configured to recognize and process the received voice input received through the voice input receiver; a buffer configured to store the voice input; and a controller configured to determine whether a voice recognition function of the signal processor is activated and control the signal processor to recognize the voice input stored in the buffer in response to the voice recognition function being determined to be activated wherein the controller is further configured to store the received voice input in the buffer in response to the received voice input being input through the voice input receiver while the voice recognition function is not activated, so that the received voice input is recognized by the signal processor when the voice recognition function is activated.
Abstract:
Technologies are generally described for controlling remote display. In some examples, a method for controlling a remote display device using a handheld computing device includes receiving, by a handheld computing device, one or more data from one or more remote display devices over a wireless communication network, selecting a remote display device based on the received data and sending a control signal to the selected remote display device.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided herein for presenting supplemental content in media assets, which may be presented only to particular users, irrespective of whether or not other users are viewing the same media asset on the same device.
Abstract:
A user terminal apparatus is provided. The user terminal apparatus for performing a remote control function for an electronic apparatus includes a communication unit configured to communicate with an electronic apparatus for providing a text input user interface (UI), an input unit configured to receive a user command for input of a specific text on the text input UI, a fingerprint scanner provided in the input unit and configured to recognize a user fingerprint, and a controller configured to recognize a user fingerprint according to the user command and to transmit information corresponding to the recognized user fingerprint to the electronic apparatus in response to the electronic apparatus entering a preset text input mode.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and system annotation of meta-data through a capture infrastructure are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of a client device includes applying an automatic content recognition algorithm to determine a content identifier of an audio-visual data. The client device then associates the content identifier with an advertisement data based on a semantic correlation between a meta-data of the advertisement provided by a content provider and/or the content identifier. A capture infrastructure annotates the audio-visual data with a brand name and/or a product name by comparing entries in the master database with a closed captioning data of the audio-visual data and/or through an application of an optical character recognition algorithm in the audio-visual data. The content identifier may involve a music identification, an object identification, a facial identification, and/or a voice identification. A minimal functionality including accessing a tuner and/or a stream decoder that identifies a channel and/or a content may be found in the networked media device. The networked media device may produce an audio fingerprint and/or a video fingerprint that is communicated with the capture infrastructure.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is related to methods and systems of displaying content on a television, including: receiving an indication associated with a selection by a user; determining, based on the received indication, a global panel to display via the television; retrieving from memory, a first content information for display in the global panel; and displaying, via the television, the retrieved content information in the specified global panel.
Abstract:
A method for identifying a user of an electronic device is presented. In the method, for each of a plurality of users, a bioelectrical impedance of the user is measured, a value based on the measurement is generated, and the value is associated with information corresponding to the user. A bioelectrical impedance of a current user of the electronic device is also measured, and a value based on this measurement is generated. The value associated with the current user is compared with at least one of the values associated with the plurality of users. In response to the comparison, the electronic device is operated based on the information corresponding to one of the plurality of users in response to the current user interacting with the electronic device if the value associated with the current user indicates the current user is the one of the plurality of users.
Abstract:
A display apparatus including a display which displays content, a communicator configured to communicate with a remote controller and an external device, and a controller. The controller being configured to, upon receiving a control command from the external device, control operation of the display apparatus based on the received control command, control the received control command to be transmitted to the remote controller, and control the communicator to transmit the received control command to the external device through the remote controller.
