摘要: A process for the preparation of a bioadhesive laminate comprising a hot-melt extruded reservoir layer and a hot-melt extruded backing layer is provided. The reservoir layer comprises a thermoplastic bioadhesive composition containing an active agent. An active agent-containing thermoplastic bioadhesive hydrophilic composition is hot-melt coextruded with a hydrophobic composition to form at least a bi-layered laminate. The hydrophilic composition and the hydrophobic composition have at least one polymer in common. In addition, the melt flow index of the hydrophobic composition is within 50% of the melt flow index of the hydrophilic composition. As a result, the laminate has a uniform transverse cross-section and/or a uniform longitudinal cross-section throughout a major of the length of the laminate. Moreover, when the laminate is divided into unit doses of approximately the same size, they have a high degree of content uniformity with respect to the active agent(s) present therein.

摘要: A supercritical fluid (SCF) extract of a cardiac glycoside-containing plant mass is provided. The extract can be included in a pharmaceutical composition containing an extract-solubilizing amount of solubilizer. Oleandrin is included within the extract when a cardiac glycoside-containing plant, such as Nerium oleander, is extracted by SCF extraction. The extract can also contain one or more other SCF extractable pharmacologically active agents. The composition can be used to treat a wide range of disorders that are therapeutically responsive to a cardiac glycoside.

摘要: A circuit board includes an insulation layer, a signal layer disposed on one side of the insulation layer, and a ground plane and a power plane disposed on the insulation layer at a side opposite to the signal layer. The insulation layer forms a separating area arranged between the ground plane and the power plane. At least two signal traces parallel to each other are arranged on the signal layer at one side corresponding to one of the ground plane and the power plane. A width of the signal trace close to the separating area is wider than that of the signal trace away from the separating area.

摘要: Stimulation of target cells using light, e.g., in vivo or in vitro, is implemented using a variety of methods and devices. One example involves a vector for delivering a light-activated NpHR-based molecule comprising a nucleic acid sequence that codes for light-activated NpHR-based molecule and a promoter. Either a high expression of the molecule manifests a toxicity level that is less than about 75%, or the light-activated NpHR-based proteins are expressed using at least two NpHR-based molecular variants. Each of the variants characterized in being useful for expressing a light-activated NpHR-based molecule that responds to light by producing an inhibitory current to dissuade depolarization of the neuron. Other aspects and embodiments are directed to systems, methods, kits, compositions of matter and molecules for ion pumps or for controlling inhibitory currents in a cell (e.g., in in vivo and in vitro environments).

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method of determining a characteristic of radiation detected by a radiation detector via a multiple-pixel event having a plurality of radiation interactions. The method includes determining a cathode-to-anode signal ratio for a selected interaction of the plurality of radiation interactions based on electron drift time data for the selected interaction, and determining the radiation characteristic for the multiple-pixel event based on both the cathode-to-anode signal ratio and the electron drift time data. In some embodiments, the method further includes determining a correction factor for the radiation characteristic based on an interaction depth of the plurality of radiation interactions, a lateral distance between the selected interaction and a further interaction of the plurality of radiation interactions, and the lateral positioning of the plurality of radiation interactions.
