摘要:
A method of forming a three-dimensional object, is carried out by (a) providing a carrier and a build plate, the build plate comprising a semipermeable member, the semipermeable member comprising a build surface with the build surface and the carrier defining a build region therebetween, and with the build surface in fluid communication by way of the semipermeable member with a source of polymerization inhibitor; (b) filling the build region with a polymerizable liquid, the polymerizable liquidcontacting the build surface, (c) irradiating the build region through the build plate to produce a solid polymerized region in the build region, while forming or maintaining a liquid film release layer comprised of the polymerizable liquid formed between the solid polymerized region and the build surface, wherein the polymerization of which liquid film is inhibited by the polymerization inhibitor; and (d) advancing the carrier with the polymerized region adhered thereto away from the build surface on the build plate to create a subsequent build region between the polymerized region and the build surface while concurrently filling the subsequent build region with polymerizable liquid as in step (b). Apparatus for carrying out the method is also described.

An apparatus for forming an injection molded article is disclosed. The apparatus includes a pumping system to deliver a silicone formulation to a mold, the silicone formulation having a viscosity of about 50,000 centipoise to about 2,000,000 centipoise. The mold has an exterior housing and an interior cavity therein, wherein the silicone formulation flows into the cavity of the mold. The apparatus further includes a source of radiation energy, wherein the radiation energy substantially cures the silicone formulation within the cavity of the mold to form the injection molded article. The present disclosure further includes a method of forming the injection molded article and a mold for an injection molded article.

A system for molding elastomeric figures includes a dispenser having first and second reservoirs containing co-reactive fluids. A mold is affixed to the dispenser and has a cavity in fluid communication with the reservoirs. A mixer is disposed between the reservoirs and cavity. A plunger forces the fluids from the reservoirs and through the mixer, where the fluids are homogeneously combined, and into the cavity. The combined fluids congeal within the cavity to form an elastomeric figure.

Provided is a wafer level lens array, in which a plurality of lens sections arranged one-dimensionally or two-dimensionally and a substrate section connecting the lens sections are integrally made of a resin material, capable of preventing the substrate section from being deformed. A wafer level lens array includes: a plurality of lens sections that are two-dimensionally arranged; a substrate section that connects the lens sections to each other; and a rib that is disposed on the substrate section and extends along the surface of the substrate section. The lens sections, the substrate section, and the rib are integrally made of a resin material.

An imprint mold including a substrate of transparent material having a first principal surface having a pattern region and a second principal surface; a first light shielding film provided on the first principal surface, along a periphery of the pattern region; and a second light shielding film provided on the second principal surface, having an opening including an opposite region to the pattern region, a part of the second light shielding film opposite to the first light shielding film. In a cross section perpendicular to the substrate, the maximum incident angle of the light for curing a transfer layer to the second principal surface is less than an angle between a perpendicular line of the second principal surface and a line connecting an end of the second light shielding film on a side of the opening and a farthest end of the first light shielding film from the pattern region.

A sol-gel process for the manufacture of moulds for use in photocatalysis. The process also relates to industrial pultrusion, extrusion and moulding processes in which use of moulds manufactured using the sol-gel process. The process provides for the provision of a sol which is gelled, drying of the gel with solvent extraction and then densification/sintering of the gel by heating with the formation of a transparent mould having a glassy consistency which is capable of permitting the passage of UV rays.

Presently described is a microstructured mold prepared from a photocured polymeric material that comprises at least one (i.e. first) photoinitiator having certain absorption characteristics. The mold is suitable for use in methods of molding a (e.g. barrier rib) microstructure precursor composition that comprises at least one (i.e. second) photoinitiator. The second photoinitiator of the microstructure precursor preferably has similar absorptions characteristics as the first photoinitiator. Thus, the polymeric material of the mold the microstructure precursor can be cured with the same wavelength range of light.

A mold for forming a balloon of a balloon catheter including a body portion defining a body region of a mold cavity and distal and proximal end caps defining tapering regions and neck regions of the mold cavity. During the molding process, the mold cavity is visible from an exterior surface of the body portion, which is transparent or translucent. The distal and proximal end caps are metal and can be precision machined in the tapering and neck regions of the mold cavity in order to achieve more accurate molded balloon dimensions. Also disclosed is a method for making a balloon of a balloon catheter using the mold and a balloon made therefrom.

A frame that holds a screen suitable for screen printing is manufactured using curable liquid resin. The liquid resin is received within a channel in a mold such that the resin contacts a screen positioned proximate to the channel. The liquid resin is then cured to a solid state to both secure the screen to the resin and form the frame holding the screen. Agents for curing the liquid resin may include, but are not limited to, light (such as ultraviolet light or visible light), an electron beam, and chemical curing agents. A substrate may be pressed against the screen opposite the mold to hold the screen against the mold. Furthermore, an inorganic material may be mixed with the curable liquid resin to provide a matrix that reinforces and strengthens of the screen printing frame when the resin is cured to a solid state.

A method of forming a three-dimensional object is described. The method may use a polymerizable liquid, or resin, useful for the production by additive manufacturing of a three-dimensional object, comprising a mixture of (i) a light polymerizable liquid first component, and (ii) a second solidifiable component that is different from said first component.
