Abstract:
Provided is a transdermal preparation, which is capable of long-term (1-day to 7-day) release of a basic drug from a preparation, continuously and at a consistent concentration; shows little reduction over time in the drug content, even if multiple drugs are contained in the preparation; and is produced by a simple process. The transdermal preparation comprises a substrate, and an adhesive layer containing a basic drug and a water-soluble polymer.
Abstract:
A method for reducing the occurrence of wrinkles in skin caused by aging by promoting the growth of fibroblasts, which have a declined cellular proliferative potential due to aging or adverse affects from ultraviolet light or active oxygen. The method includes the steps of providing an agent that contains a yeast extract and a safflower extract as effective constituents, and applying the agent to skin to promote the growth of fibroblasts.
Abstract:
A composition contains a substance, which is capable of inhibiting activity of ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease) present in a skin, in a proportion efficient for preventing or remedying wrinkling. Wrinkling is prevented or remedied with a method comprising the step of applying a substance, which is capable of inhibiting activity of ADAM present in a skin, to the skin. Anti-wrinkling effects are evaluated with a method wherein enzymatic activity or a gene expression level of ADAM in a skin, a skin tissue, or cells is used as an index.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a patch-containing packaging pouch which enables stable storage of a patch containing bisoprolol in a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. A packaged desiccant 1 of the present invention has a packaging pouch 8 composed of a pair of laminated package members 7a and 7b arranged in mutual opposition, and a patch 10 housed in the space within this packaging pouch 8. Patch 10 is provided with a support 12 and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 14 laminated substantially over the entire surface of one side of this support 12. In addition, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is composed of a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing a pressure-sensitive adhesive and bisoprolol or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. Moreover, a packaged desiccant 20 is housed within packaging pouch 8. The relative humidity within packaging pouch 8 is maintained at 25% or less in a patch-containing packaging pouch 1 having this constitution.
Abstract:
A method for promoting skin basement membrane formation comprises administering matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor or matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor and matrix protein production promoting agent. The matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor is N-hydroxy-2(R)-[[(4-methoxyphenyl)sulfonyl](3-picolyl)amino]-3-methylbutanamide hydrochloride.
Abstract:
A modified carbodiimide resin obtainable by reacting a carbodiimide resin comprising a repeating unit represented by the general formula: —(NCN—R1)- wherein R1 represents a divalent organic group, with an aromatic diamine represented by the general formula: H2N—R2—NH2 wherein R2 represents a divalent organic group having a benzene ring, and a thermosetting resin composition comprising the modified carbodiimide resin and an epoxy resin.
Abstract:
A metal material subjected to a treatment for seizure prevention is provided. The metal material includes a metal base material and a film formed thereon, the film being composed of a carbodiimide group-containing resin obtained from an aromatic polyisocyanate or of a mixture of said carbodiimide group-containing resin and a lubricant. A method for producing a metal material subjected to a treatment for seizure prevention is also provided. The method includes coating, on a metal base material, a carbodiimide group-containing resin obtained from an aromatic polyisocyanate or a mixture of said carbodiimide group-containing resin and a lubricant, and then subjecting the coated metal base material to a heat treatment at a temperature of 120° C. or higher.
Abstract:
A resin composition for use in a liquid sealant, which is composed mainly of an epoxy compound, an epoxy resin curing agent and a polycarbodiimide resin, the proportion of the polycarbodiimide resin being 0.1 to 10 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the epoxy compound, and which is liquid or fluid at ordinary temperature. The liquid sealant comprises a resin composition which is composed mainly of an epoxy compound and a polycarbodiimide resin, the proportion of the polycarbodiimide resin being 0.1 to 10 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the epoxy compound, an epoxy resin curing agent, an epoxy resin curing accelerator and an inorganic powder. The sealant is liquid or fluid at ordinary temperature.
Abstract:
There are provided a polycarbodiimide copolymer having a main structure represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is an isocyanate residue; R.sub.2 is a polyfunctional liquid rubber residue; X is a urethane bond, an amide bond or a urea bond; p is an integer of 5 to 50; q is an integer of 1 to 5; and r is 0 or 1; and a process for producing the above polycarbodiimide copolymer, which comprises reacting a polyfunctional liquid rubber with an organic diisocyanate in excess of the rubber and then subjecting the diisocyanate components in the reaction system to carbodiimization using a carbodiimidization catalyst. The polycarbodiimide copolymer alleviates the problems of the prior art, has the excellent heat resistance inherently possessed by polycarbodiimide resins, is improved, as compared with conventional polycarbodiimide resins, in thermoformability under heating and pressure when made into a solid such as a powder or granules, and causes no blistering under heating.
