摘要:
A method, apparatus and system for transmitting a data link descriptor or MAP signal describing sub-burst transmissions having a common number of resource units allocated thereto. The MAP signal may include the length of the common number of resource units allocated thereto and the modulation and coding schemes to be used thereby. A method, apparatus and system for transmitting an ordered MAP signal sequence describing a series of transmissions each having a number of resource units allocated thereto. A first plurality of locations in the ordered sequence may describe lengths of resource units. A second plurality of locations in the ordered sequence may describe numbers of transmissions having the lengths described in one of the first plurality of locations. A third plurality of locations in the ordered sequence may describe a number of transmissions using one of a plurality of modulation and coding schemes. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

The techniques introduced here provide for network assisted device-to-device communication for peer-to-peer applications. The techniques include registering a user's peer-to-peer application identifier with a peer-to-peer application server, registering a peer-to-peer application with a device-to-device server, sending a peer-to-peer service request to the peer-to-peer application server, and receiving network assistance in discovering a peer with the desired P2P content/service and establishing a device-to-device communication arrangement for exchange of peer-to-peer services.

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe device, methods, computer-readable media and system configurations for coordinating a plurality of self-optimization operations, such as an energy-saving management operation and a capacity and coverage optimization operation, to reduce conflicts between changes to configuration parameters of a wireless network access node caused by the self-optimization operations. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
摘要:
Wireless communication devices may directly communicate within groups of wireless communication devices using Layer-2 communications to implement “push-to-talk” type applications. In one implementation, a method may include generating a floor request signaling message to take control of a communication channel for a group. After transmitting data relating to the communications, a floor release signaling message may be generated and transmitted a number of times.

An apparatus may include a transceiver and a processor circuit coupled to the transceiver. The apparatus may also include a local packet data network access module operable on the processor circuit to schedule for transmission from the transceiver to a mobility management entity (MME) a request from a user equipment (UE) for access to a local network, to generate a request for authentication to be sent to the UE, and to receive authentication information sent in response to the request for authentication. Other embodiments are disclosed and claimed.

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe techniques and configurations for transmitting small data payloads in a wireless communication network. An apparatus may include non-access stratum (NAS) circuitry configured to receive a trigger to send a data payload to a wireless communication network, the data payload having a size that is less than a preconfigured threshold, and generate a NAS message including the data payload and access stratum (AS) circuitry coupled with the NAS circuitry and configured to transmit the NAS message including the data payload to a node comprising a Mobility Management Entity (MME) or a Serving GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) Support Node (SGSN). Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
摘要:
Various embodiments include systems, wireless modules, and methods for local IP access packet data network release. Handover data can be received at a target wireless module as part of a user equipment handover operation. The user equipment can include an active packet data network session associated with a source local home network. A determination that the target wireless module is not in the source local home network can be made based on the handover data. The target wireless module can trigger deactivation of the packet data network session in response to the determination that the target wireless module is not in the source local home network.

Embodiments of protocol converters (PCs), and related techniques, are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a PC may include reception logic to receive Extensible Markup Language (XML) data transmitted by an Application Function (AF), conversion logic to convert the XML data into a Diameter Protocol (DP) message, and provision logic to provide the DP message for transmission to a Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF). Other embodiments may be disclosed and/or claimed.
摘要:
Session continuity may be maintained when communication devices transition from communicating through network infrastructure (e.g., through a cellular network) to direct mode communications (e.g., a communication path directly between two communication devices). For example, in switching from an infrastructure mode communication path to a direct mode communication path, a method may include: determining a public-facing address corresponding to the infrastructure path; replacing, for a packet that is to be transmitted over the direct mode communication path to a second communication device, a source address field of the packet with the determined public-facing address; and encapsulating the packet with source and destination address fields corresponding to the first and second communication device through the direct mode communication path respectively.
