摘要: A manufacturing method of a halogen-free flame-retardant thermoplastic braided fiber reinforced polymer composite board, comprising steps of: preparing a recycled material containing a halogen-free flame-retardant thermoplastic braided fiber reinforced polymer composite; adding a polymer base material to the recycled material to form a core layer material and extruding the core layer material with a low shear extruder; hot pressing the core layer material by rollers to obtain a recycled fiber core layer; preparing a reinforcement layer containing a fiber material or a fabric with pores; and stacking and hot pressing the recycled fiber core layer and the reinforcement layer.

摘要: A unitary reinforced composite based panel component, and methods of construction thereof is provided. The unitary reinforced panel component eliminates the need for adhesively joining an offset piece to the backside of a panel, to provide additional reinforcing strength thereby improving efficiency and eliminating bond-line read-through (BLRT). A vehicle component is prepared with resort to a preform made of selective comingled fiber bundle positioning (SCFBP) to selectively place co-mingled fibers that are enriched in carbon fiber as a reinforcement relative to other region that rely on a relatively higher percentage of glass fiber reinforcement to create such a preform.

摘要: A nonwoven trough and method of construction thereof are provided. The nonwoven trough includes at least one nonwoven wall formed from a mixture of bonded natural cellulosic fibers and thermoplastic fibers. The at least one nonwoven wall extends along a longitudinal axis and has a midsection and opposite end portions. The midsection has a base and a pair of walls extending upwardly from the base to provide the midsection with a generally U-shaped cross-section taken generally transversely to the longitudinal axis. At least one flange extends laterally from the at least one nonwoven wall, wherein the flange is configured for attachment to a vehicle member.

摘要: A repulpable insulation material includes a batt formed of a mixture of thermoplastic binder fibers and cellulose fibers bound together by the thermoplastic binder fibers, the thermoplastic binder fibers making up about 0.5% to 25% by weight of the batt, the repulpable insulation material having a weight within a range from 1000 GSM to 1600 GSM, wherein subjecting the repulpable insulation material to a repulpability test produces greater than 85% fiber yield.

摘要: A thermoplastic surfacer for providing lightning strike protection to a composite component of an aircraft, methods of manufacturing the surfacer, and methods of applying the surfacer to a composite part. The thermoplastic surfacer includes a broadgood having a thermoplastic resin, one or more fillers embedded into the broadgood, and a lightning strike protection mesh or foil embedded into the broadgood. When applying the surfacer to a composite part of an aircraft, the method includes draping the surfacer on an at least partially unconsolidated composite part, consolidating the at least partially unconsolidated composite part by heating the part to a temperature at or above a melt temperature of a resins used in the part and in the surfacer, and filling at least one surface defect in the consolidated part using the thermoplastic polymer resin and milled fibers provided in the thermoplastic surfacer.

摘要: A vehicle component that includes at least one fiber preform. The fiber preform includes a substrate, a fiber bundle having one or more types of reinforcing fibers, and a thread. The fiber bundle is arranged on the substrate and attached to the substrate by a plurality of stitches of the thread to form a first preform layer having a principal orientation. The vehicle component includes a core having a geometry with at least one edge and at least one the fiber preforms positioned along the at least one edge, the core and the fiber preform being overmolded in a resin. A process of making the vehicle component includes providing the core having the at least one edge, positioning the at least one fiber preform along the at least one edge, and overmolding the core and the at least one fiber preform in the resin.
