摘要: Embodiments of the invention provide optimized polymeric surfaces adapted for use with implantable medical devices as well as methods for making and using such polymeric surfaces. These polymer surfaces have a constellation of features that function to inhibit or avoid an inflammatory immune response generated by implantable medical devices. Typical embodiments of the invention include an implantable glucose sensor used in the management of diabetes having a polymer surface with the disclosed constellation of features.

摘要: Provided is a method for preparing an alkaline red mud coating for preventing marine organism attachment, including: (1) mixing stearic acid and absolute ethanol by stirring to obtain a mixed solution; (2) mixing the mixed solution and a red mud powder to obtain a mixture, and drying the mixture to obtain a modified hydrophobic red mud powder; (3) adding benzyl glycidyl ether into an epoxy resin and conducting dispersion to be uniform to obtain a mixed system, adding the modified hydrophobic red mud powder into the mixed system, continuing the dispersion to be uniform to obtain a blend, and grinding the blend to obtain an antifouling coating material; and (4) during use, mixing the antifouling coating material with a polyamide curing agent to obtain a mixture system, and applying the mixture system onto a surface of building to form the alkaline red mud coating for preventing marine organism attachment.

摘要: To provide a board material processing composition allowing for production of a board material laminate that is non-combustible and is excellent in adhesion performance. In order to solve this problem, a board material processing composition inhibiting combustion of a board material due to heating, comprises: a carbonization promotion component, being inorganic, promoting carbonization of an organic component within the board material at the heating; a chain inhibition component, being inorganic, inhibiting a reaction chain to a neighboring component due to a product of endothermic decomposition generated at the heating; and binder particles, being inorganic and hydrophobic, bonding the organic component within the board material to the carbonization promotion component and the chain inhibition component, wherein the carbonization promotion component includes boric acid, the chain inhibition component includes ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, and the binder particles include silica sand.

摘要: This disclosure relates to an aqueous solution for coating a paper or board surface for reducing MOSH or MOAH migration. The aqueous solution involves hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) in an amount of from 10% to 60% (w/w), wherein the viscosity of said hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) is from 2 mPa·s to 100 mPa·s, determined as a 2% (w/w) solution in water at 20° C. according to Ubbelohde.

摘要: In regard to a conventionally known resin composition for an antistatic hard coating to which an ionic liquid is added and an antistatic hard coating using it, there is a problem that it is difficult to achieve both an antistatic ability and high hardness. In order to solve the problem, used is a resin composition for an ultraviolet curing hard coating, the resin composition containing: an electrically conductive polymer that contains polythiophene (A) including at least two structural units represented by a specific general formula; an ultraviolet curable resin (B); and a solvent (C).

摘要: In one embodiment this, invention relates to preparing non-conducting polymer-based partially-open, hollow reservoirs (POHR) in the nano-size to micro-size range that encapsulate an additive, which can be released from the reservoirs. This invention also relates to methods of preparing such POHR, and for releasing the additive. This invention further relates to matrix that comprises such reservoirs and the method of preparing such matrix. This invention also relates to applications, for example in bio-active mitigation or enhancement, corrosion inhibition, lubrication, and adhesion, that benefit from using such release of a functional additive (FA).

The water-soluble cationic polymer can have quaternary ammonium groups and amino groups. The hydrophobizing agent is an aqueous silicone resin emulsion, a silicone oil emulsion, an emulsion or microemulsion of an amino-functional silicone oil, a silane emulsion, or mixtures thereof.
