Abstract:
The invention relates to a protective helmet, and in particular, to a protective motorcycle helmet, comprising an antenna (1) for radio transmission, an outer shell (2) for distributing impact forces, an inner layer (3), which is accommodated by the outer shell (2), for damping impact forces, and a socket (4), which is firmly connected to the outer shell (2), for contacting a digital device (5) for wireless communication, wherein the socket (4), when contacting the digital device (5), electrically connects the latter to the antenna (1) for wireless communication. The protective helmet is characterized in that at least a partial layer of the outer shell (2) is disposed between the antenna (1) and the inner layer (3).
Abstract:
Earphone apparatus includes dry electrophysiological electrodes and, optionally, other physiological and/or environmental sensors to measure signals such as ECG from the head of a subject. Methods of use of such apparatus to provide fitness, health, or other measured or derived, estimated, or predicted metrics are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An illuminated hat assembly including a mounting bracket for being secured to a hat. A light assembly is removably connectable to the mounting bracket and includes at least one light emitter for emitting light in front of the hat. The mounting bracket includes a pair of rails that extend in spaced and parallel relationship with one another. The rails slideably receive the light assembly for connecting the light assembly to the mounting bracket.
Abstract:
A disposable aspirated inflatable safety protection balaclava hood system and apparatus designed to protect the human head and neck from injury resulting from sports impacts with a crash sensor arrangement in which acceleration, angular, rotational, extension or flexion motion resulting from an impact force requires deployment of an apparatus protection device. The method embodies an inherent bladder airbag system that is deployed with resulting impact force on the sensor arrangement using an actuation mechanism and an inflation interconnected bladder system, or tube(s) resulting in release of the inert compressed inert gas in a cartridge actuation mechanism using a triggering mechanism, which is held in an interior pocket of the hood resulting in aspiration of the inflatable safety bladder protection hood.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of devices, systems and methods for using a cap to unobtrusively monitor a patient's vital signs are disclosed. More specifically, a stocking cap includes at least one primary compartment configured for receiving a first biometric sensor, at least one third compartment configured for receiving a cartridge, at least one fourth compartment configured for receiving a transmitter, at least one channel configured for routing at least one connector, and at least one fifth compartment configured for receiving an antenna. A system for use with such a cap includes a sensor which outputs vitals, a cartridge configured to receive the vitals from the sensor, process the received vitals, and output the processed vitals to a server. The server providing processed vital signals for use and display on a tablet or other user presentation and user interface device.
Abstract:
A flip cap which has crown and bill portions, the bill having upper and lower members, at least one of the upper and lower members having a surface capable of displaying information secured thereto when the upper and lower members are spaced-apart.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a visibility-enhancing device that requires the presence of a textile or fabric having an internal surface and an external surface; and a flexible and conformable visible light source apparatus attached to the textile or fabric, wherein the visible light source apparatus comprises: at least one visible light source that is positioned towards the internal surface of the textile or fabric and/or is positioned to provide light at an angle that is substantially perpendicular to the internal surface of the textile or fabric; at least two conductive members having a first end and a second end.
Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a garment system including at least one sensor, and at least one actuator that operates responsive to sensing feedback from the at least one sensor to activate a flexible compression garment to selectively constrict or selectively dilate. Such selective constriction or dilation against the at least one body part can improve muscle functioning, or joint functioning during an activity such as a sport or other athletic activity.
Abstract:
According to embodiments, a headcovering hat-based, and/or headband sensor assembly may provide an output to indicate when the sensor experiences abnormal forces or pressure. The sensor assembly may include features to increase the pressure against the tissue to allow the sensor to contact the tissue with sufficient force to obtain accurate measurement, but not so much force as to cause any discomfort for a patient.
Abstract:
A headwear assembly, comprising a crown, a bill attached to said crown, and extending outwardly therefrom. The bill comprises an upper bill portion comprising a first periphery and a first closure means disposed along that first periphery, a lower bill portion comprising a second periphery and a second closure means disposed along that second periphery, wherein the first periphery can be releaseably attached to the second periphery by releaseably attaching the first closure means to the second closure means to define an enclosed space between the upper bill portion and the lower bill portion.
