Abstract: The present disclosure describes thermoformable sheets capable of retaining an absorbing stain, pigmented sealer or clear sealer. The unique resin binder formulations and products include porosity-promoting agents that result in the resin binder having a porous surface capable of being stained, while still having the favorable properties of traditional Thermofoil products. The methods of the invention produce a Thermofoil product that can be stained with a variety of stains and colorants after manufacturing to suit the individual builder's or homeowner's preference.

Abstract: A laminated glass article comprises a core layer comprising a core glass composition having an average core coefficient of thermal expansion (CTEcore) and a clad layer directly adjacent to the core layer and comprising a clad glass composition having an average clad coefficient of thermal expansion (CTEclad) that is less than the CTEcore such that the clad layer is in compression and the core layer is in tension. A compressive stress of the clad layer increases with increasing distance from the outer surface of the clad layer, transitions to a minimum tensile stress as a step-change at an interface region between the core layer and the clad layer, and a magnitude of the tensile stress increases continuously to a maximum tensile stress in the core layer. Other stress profiles, and methods of preparing laminated glass articles are also disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to a recyclable, asymmetrical-faced composite nonwoven textile suitable for use in apparel and other articles and methods of making the same. In example aspects, the asymmetrical-faced composite nonwoven textile includes a first face formed, at least in part from a first entangled web of fibers and an opposite second face formed, at least in part from a second entangled web of fibers. When incorporated into an article of apparel, the first face forms an outer-facing surface of the article of apparel, and the second face forms an inner-facing surface of the article of apparel. The first face includes features making it suitable to form the outer-facing surface such as resistance to abrasion, and the second face includes features making it suitable to form an inner-facing surface such as a soft hand.

Abstract: The invention provides a film having at least a base material layer and an easily adhesive layer each containing a polyester as a main component, stacked in an order of the easily adhesive layer/the base material layer/the easily adhesive layer, and satisfying all of (1) to (4): (1) a difference between reversible heat capacity differences ΔCp at around glass transition temperatures of the easily adhesive layer and the base material layer is 0.10 or more and 0.45 or less; (2) heat sealing strength between the easily adhesive layers of said two films is 0.5 N/15 mm or less; (3) a stress at 10% elongation F10 in each of an MID direction and a TD direction is 90 MPa or more and 160 MPa or less; and (4) a molecular orientation ratio measured by using a molecular orientation meter is 1.0 or more and 1.3 or less.

Abstract: Provided is a polyester composite film, comprising a first thermoplastic polyether ester elastomer (TPEE) film and a second TPEE film. The melting point of a second TPEE resin of the second TPEE film is higher than that of a first TPEE resin of the first TPEE film, and the absolute difference in enthalpy of fusion between the first and second TPEE films is 5 J/g to 15 J/g. By adopting the first and second TPEE films having specific absolute difference of the enthalpy of fusion and controlling the melting points of the first and second TPEE resins, the polyester composite film can be well attached onto the fabric by hot pressing to obtain sufficient peel strength, and thereby the attached fabric can have excellent waterproof performance. Besides, a hot melt adhesive laminate comprising the polyester composite film also exhibits the above beneficial effects when attached to the fabric.
