摘要: A method for manufacturing an abradable layer and a substrate coated with this layer, may include: preparing a powder composition including at least ceramic particles and an inorganic filler having a lamellar crystallographic structure, the volume content of the inorganic filler in the powder composition being in a range of from 1 to 75%; compressing the powder composition; and sintering the powder composition thus compressed in order to obtain the abradable layer.

摘要: A process may involve digesting raw phosphate with concentrated sulfuric acid and converting the raw phosphate to calcium sulfate in the form of dihydrate and/or hemihydrate, and phosphoric acid, separating off calcium sulfate as solid from a liquid phase of a suspension that is obtained, treating the calcium sulfate that is separated off or from a stockpile with an acid to give a suspension with purified calcium sulfate and P2O5-containing acid solution, separating off the purified calcium sulfate as solid from a liquid phase of a suspension obtained, using the P2O5-containing liquid phase as a portion of the sulfuric acid required for digesting the raw phosphate or as feedstock for treating phosphogypsum from the stockpile to give a suspension of purified calcium sulfate and P2O5-containing acid solution, which is thereafter processed.

摘要: An antimicrobial medical device that includes a substrate having a metal surface that is made from a metal or metal alloy that may include stainless steel, cobalt, and titanium. Disposed on the metal surface is a first antimicrobial oxide layer that includes an antimicrobial metal that may include silver, copper, and zinc, and combinations thereof. The atoms of antimicrobial metal in the first antimicrobial oxide layer are of a first concentration. The first antimicrobial oxide layer is positioned in a direction opposite that of the metal surface. The device further includes a second antimicrobial oxide layer that includes an antimicrobial metal that may be silver, copper, and zinc, and combinations thereof. The atoms of the antimicrobial metal present in the second antimicrobial oxide layer are of a second concentration. The first concentration and the second concentration are not equal. Methods for making the antimicrobial medical device are also disclosed.

The material may also include a filler material and an optional liquid carrier. The ceramic precursor materials may be silicon carbide, silicon oxycarbide, silicon nitride, silicon carbonitride, silicon oxycarbonitride, gallium containing group 13 oligomeric compounds and mixtures thereof. The ceramic precursor may be deposited by a direct ink writing (DIW) process.

摘要: A castable refractory composition may include from 5% to 95% by weight of alumina, aluminosilicate, or mixtures thereof; from 0.5% to 1.5% by weight alkaline earth metal oxide and/or hydroxide, and 0.1% to 5% by weight of silica having a surface area of at least about 10 m2/g. The refractory composition may include no more than 0.5% by weight of cementitious binder. The refractory composition may release less than 25 cm3 of hydrogen gas per kilogram of castable refractory composition upon addition of water. The refractory compositions may set on addition of water.
