    摘要: The present invention relates to a method to produce highly branched polymers with a polyolefin backbone structure of ethylene and precise control of the nature of the branching. In particular, the distribution of branch length and number of branches can be more precisely controlled via the polymerization method of the present invention. The method comprises using anionic chemistry to make unsaturated polydienes with a well-defined, highly-branched structure, and then hydrogenating these polydienes to form highly branched or dendritic saturated hydrocarbon polymers. Highly branched or dendritic polyethylene, ethylene-propylene copolymer and atactic polypropylene are among the saturated hydrocarbon polymers that can be anionically synthesized via the proper selection of diene monomer type, coupling agent, and hydrogenation conditions. The highly branched or dendritic saturated hydrocarbon polymers of the present invention find application in injection molding and extrusion processes as a minor additive for improving processability of linear polyolefins by delaying the onset of melt fracture, and correspondingly increasing melt throughput rates. An additional benefit is that the mechanical properties of the polyolefinic film, sheet, pipe or fiber produced with minor amounts of highly branched or dendritic saturated hydrocarbon polymers of the present disclosure are not negatively impacted.

    摘要: A method of using nanostructured chemicals as alloying agents for the reinforcement of polymer microstructures, including polymer coils, domains, chains, and segments, at the molecular level. Because of their tailorable compatibility with polymers, nanostructured chemicals can be readily and selectively incorporated into polymers by direct blending processes. The incorporation of a nanostructured chemical into a polymer favorably impacts a multitude of polymer physical properties. Properties most favorably improved are time dependent mechanical and thermal properties such as heat distortion, creep, compression set, shrinkage, modulus, hardness and abrasion resistance. In addition to mechanical properties, other physical properties are favorably improved, including lower thermal conductivity, fire resistance, and improved oxygen permeability.

    摘要: One-coating and one-package type coating material in which wall surfaces or the like of a building are finished into natural granite tone are disclosed. A group of flexible resin flakes having more than three kinds of colors and a binder which is turned to be substantially transparent when dried or set are mixed together. The resin flakes have an irregular shape and a random size, the thickness is uneven within one piece and every one piece, having a peripheral end which becomes continuously thin toward the outer edge, and have a color tone similar to the components of granite. Since the peripheral end of the resin flakes is continuously thin toward the outer edge, when coated, there is no unnatural difference in level in the superposed portions of resin flakes. Further, an external appearance and a quality sense extremely close to natural granite are obtained due to the unevenness of thickness of resin flakes. Further, since necessary deformation occurs in resin flakes during coating due to the flexibility, workability is good. The finish without irregularity and uneven color can be obtained by anybody.
