摘要： Continuous processing methods are used for making absorbable polymeric non-wovens, with anisotropic properties, improved mechanical properties and without substantial loss of polymer molecular weight during processing. The method includes producing dry spun-non wovens from a polymer, and collecting the fibers using a rotating collector plate, preferably a rotating cylinder, to collect the non-woven instead of a fiberglass stationary collector plate. The non-wovens can be used for a variety of purposes including fabrication of medical devices.

摘要： IR-emitting or reflecting polymer fibers are formed by blending a high concentration of IR-emitting or reflecting particles with a thermoplastic polymer and meltblowing fibers which have an average diameter of 20 μ or less. The meltblowing process allows for inclusion of a high concentration of the IR-emitting or reflecting particles, yet allows fibers to be formed. These can be formed into a soft, air-permeable, nonwoven web. The fibers can be monocomponent or bicomponent or multicomponent and can be textured or shaped.

摘要： A stent or other prosthesis may be formed by encapsulating a scaffold or frame with a polymer coating. The polymer coating may consist of layers of electrospun polytetrafluoroethylne (PTFE). Electrospun PTFE of certain porosities may permit endothelial cell growth within the prosthesis. The stent may be applicable to stents designed for the central venous system, peripheral vascular stents, abdominal aortic aneurism stents, bronchial stents, esophageal stents, biliary stents, or any other stent.

Embodiments of the non-woven mat surprisingly have a Resiliency Value after three thermal cycles from 25° C. to 700° C./400° C. of the Real Condition Fixture Test at least 1.1 times greater than the Resiliency Value of a comparable non-woven mat consisting of any individual type of fibers of the non-woven mat. The non-woven mats are useful, for example, in pollution control devices and other thermal insulation applications.

The structural fibers have a composition different from the smokeless tobacco. The tobacco-entangled fabric can have an overall oven volatiles content of at least 10 weight percent. In some embodiments, the structural fibers form a nonwoven network. In some embodiments, fibrous structures of the smokeless tobacco are entangled with the structural fibers.
