    摘要： It is one object of the present invention to provide an air-intake actuated device adapted for delivering a substance to a nasal cavity of a subject, comprising: a. a container for containing said substance; b. a nosepiece extending from said device for placement in proximity to a nose of said subject. c. a valve mechanically connectable to said container, characterized by an ACTIVE CONFIGURATION and an INACTIVE CONFIGURATION; and, d. a trigger mechanism adapted to reconfigure said valve from said ACTIVE CONFIGURATION to said INACTIVE CONFIGURATION, and vice versa; wherein said trigger mechanism is activated by means of said subject intaking air through said mouthpiece; further wherein said trigger mechanism is adapted to reconfigure said valve from said INACTIVE CONFIGURATION to said ACTIVE CONFIGURATION for a predetermined period of time in response to said subject intake of air.

    摘要： An aerosol inhalation system includes a first conduit member for delivering medication in the form of aerosol particles to a patient. The system also includes a first device in fluid communication with the first holding chamber for producing the aerosol particles and being sealingly yet releasably received within an adapter that forms an entrance into a first holding chamber. The adapter has a compressible material disposed thereon which is at least partially compressed by insertion of the first device to form the seal between the first device and the adapter, thereby creating a closed system that is therefore capable of delivering a fixed concentration of the medication to the patient due to a valve of the valve mechanism being closed when the patient inhales and the medication is delivered to the patient.

The inhaler assembly comprises a holder adapted to retain at least two diffusion canisters containing either substantially the same or different drug formulations. The canister holder has an outlet in communication with the inlet of a spacer. The spacer, in turn, has an outlet in communication with a mask such that, in use, medication from at least one of the canisters can be dispensed into the spacer for inhalation in aerosol form via the mask.
