Abstract:
A pressing apparatus associated with an absorbent article, including: a pair of rollers that are driven and rotate with outer circumferential surfaces thereof facing each other, when a fibrous continuous sheet overlapped with an article to be overlapped with a thermoplastic adhesive therebetween is passed in a continuous direction of the fibrous continuous sheet through a roller gap between the pair of rollers, the pressing apparatus sandwiching and pressing the article to be overlapped and the fibrous continuous sheet between the outer circumferential surfaces, and a heating mechanism that heats at least a roller of the pair of rollers that is positioned on a side of the fibrous continuous sheet, the heating mechanism heating the roller so as to keep a temperature of the outer circumferential surface of the roller within a range from 70° C. to 120° C.
Abstract:
A heat exchange element of flexible plastic film, a heat exchanger including such elements, and apparatus for manufacturing the elements are described. The element includes a pair of opposite film sheets bonded by welds to form an expandable bag with inside and outside heat exchange surfaces, an inlet opening for supplying a pressurized heat exchange fluid to the bag, an outlet opening for discharging the fluid from the bag after heat exchange, and an array of welds defining routes for fluid flow inside the bag. There are spot welds in a first zone of the element, parallel extended welds in a second zone of the element, defining fluid flow channels through the second zone, and oblique welds in a third zone of the element, defining channels for fluid flow towards the outlet opening. The heat exchanger includes a pack of adjacent elements for heat exchange between a pressurized first fluid.
Abstract:
Polymeric indicator films and pH indicating wraps are provided for visually monitoring, detecting, and/or determining the presence of metabolic byproducts from harmful or potentially harmful microorganisms. Also provided are methods of use and preparation of the polymeric indicator films.
Abstract:
The device for the roll-sealing of sheets has a mating roll and a sealing roll, which presses against the mating roll with a sealing force, so that a molded sheet and a cover sheet can be guided between the sealing roll and the mating roll and sealed to form a sealed composite sheet structure. The surface of the mating roll has recesses to accept blister pockets of the molded sheet and a rippled structure. The elevations formed by the rippled structure comprise contact areas of different sizes.
Abstract:
Moisture-resistant materials comprise an open net-like fabric with strands of varying thicknesses and polymer film thereon. The material is both resistant to water penetration and also slip resistant under dry or wet conditions. The moisture-resistant materials are suitable for use in various applications including roofing underpayment, flashing, housewrap and other construction sheet-like materials. An optional second layer of fabric may be applied to the moisture-resistant material, for example, to improve the strength, tear resistance, and scuff resistance of the moisture-resistant material.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a device (1) for packaging products in a foil package, comprising feed-through means for Continuously supplying a foil web (12) from a supply roll to a corner forming unit (6), said corner forming unit comprising, in succession, a curved deforming edge (58) for deforming the flat foil web to a curved foil web having a reduced width, at least in perpendicular view, deforming means (21, 22) for forming a profile in the curved foil web, a roller for flattening the foil web, with the reduced width of the foil web at least substantially being maintained and overlapping sections being formed at the location of the profile, and sealing means (24) for sealing said overlapping sections, wherein the deforming edge and the deforming means form part of an exchangeable unit (31) and wherein the sealing means are movable along at least one guide (35, 49) extending parallel to the central axis of the roller, with the corner forming unit comprising aligning elements (45) associated with the sealing means, which aligning elements cooperate with further aligning elements (44) associated with at least some of the deforming means for correctly positioning the sealing means relative to the deforming means.
Abstract:
An inflatable article has a first film bonded to a second film so as to provide between the first film and the second film a plurality of inflatable chambers, each of the inflatable chambers containing a plurality of cells. Each of the cells is connected to at least one adjacent cell by an inflatable connecting channel. The first film is bonded to the second film between adjacent inflatable chambers. The first film and the second film each have at least one formed region corresponding with a location of a cell, with the at least one formed region of the second film being nested into the at least one formed region of the first film. Also disclosed are processes of making the inflatable article.
Abstract:
A method for producing a multilayer laminated film comprising: laminating a resin film having a moisture percentage of 10% by weight to 60% by weight with a first transparent film and a second transparent film each having a moisture percentage of 0.5% by weight to 5% by weight to be bonded to both sides of the resin film through an adhesive or pressure-sensitive adhesive layer interposed therebetween; wherein the laminating comprising steps of: passing the resin film and the first transparent film between a pair of a first metal roll and a first elastic roll in such a manner that the first transparent film is placed on the first metal roll side so that they are bonded to each other under pressure to form a laminated film; and then, using the laminated film without winding up it and passing the laminated film and the second transparent film between a pair of a second metal roll and a second elastic roll in such a manner that the second transparent film is placed on the second metal roll side so that they are bonded to each other under pressure to form a multilayer laminated film. The method can prevent bubbles from being formed between the resin film and the transparent film.
Abstract:
A bodyboard has an improved construction for ease of handling. A variety of different shapes and construction features allows the bodyboard a distinct yet stable performance in the water. A bodyboard has an improved construction for ease of handling. The bodyboard has a bottom finger bulb with a shallow lengthwise bottom depression and shallow rear tail depressions. The process for producing the board requires removal of foam core material, or molding the foam core in a specific shape mold to provide the profile. Rear tail depressions formed at a diagonal angle being no more than 1 cm in depth can extend from a deep portion at the tail of the board and blend into the board at approximately one-quarter of the length of the board.
Abstract:
A release liner web has thermoplastic membranes coated on opposite sides of the release liner web that are thermoplastically fused proximally to an edge of the release liner web, nearly doubling the width of thermoplastic membranes that can be prepared using conventional equipment. Also described are geomembranes prepared from an amorphous or semi-crystalline thermoplastic sheet material and having a high gloss surface, and methods of manufacture and use of same.
