Abstract: The present application relates to a heat-resistant semi-conductive thermoplastic resin composition and shaped articles made therefrom. The thermoplastic resin composition comprises the following components: an aromatic polycarbonate, a polyalkylene terephthalate, a conductive carbon black and a reinforcement material. The shaped article made from the thermoplastic resin composition according to the present invention has a good combination of heat-resistance, semi-conductivity and dimensional stability.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a rubber composition for a truck tire, the rubber composition comprising 70 phr to 95 phr of polyisoprene, and 5 phr to 30 phr of a solution polymerized styrene butadiene rubber having a glass transition temperature of less than −40° C. which is functionalized for the coupling to silica. Furthermore, the rubber composition comprises 40 phr to 80 phr of a filler comprising predominantly silica. Moreover, the present invention is directed to a truck tire comprising the rubber composition and to a truck comprising such a tire.

Abstract: The present invention is directed a rubber composition for a truck tire, the rubber composition comprising 75 phr to 95 phr of polyisoprene, 5 phr to 25 phr of at least one diene based rubber selected from polybutadiene rubber and styrene butadiene rubber, and 40 phr to 70 phr of silica, wherein the silica has a BET surface area within a range of 260 m2/g and 350 m2/g. Furthermore, the present invention is directed to a truck tire comprising such a rubber composition and a truck with a respective tire.

Abstract: A carrier tape, cover tape or static shielding bag for transportation of electronic components is constructed of polymers and carbon nanotubes being between 0.01% and 3% by weight. The carbon nanotubes may have any number of walls and any desired size of diameter dimension which is less than approximately 100 nm. The carrier tape, cover tape or bags including the carbon nanotubes have a static dissipative range measured between 1×105 and 1×1012 Ω/sq and a light transmittance value of between 60% and 90%. The carrier tape, cover tape or bags including the carbon nanotubes reduce surface defects, high density entanglements and agglomerations. The static shielding bags including the carbon nanotubes may be formed as sheets which are manufactured into a desired size of bag.

Abstract: Provided is a tire having a tread portion with a thickness of 15 mm or less, wherein the cap rubber layer forming the tread portion is formed from a rubber composition containing 40 parts by mass or more and 80 parts by mass or less of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) with a styrene content of 25% by mass or less, in 100 parts by mass of the rubber component, and in addition to the rubber component, containing silica and carbon black; and having loss tangent 30° C. tan δ of more than 0.18 measured under the conditions of temperature of 30° C., frequency of 10 Hz, initial strain of 5%, dynamic strain rate of 1%, and deformation mode: tensile; wherein the carbon black content is 15 parts by mass or more with respect to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component, and the ratio of the silica content to the carbon black content is 1 or more; and an object of the present invention is to improve chipping resistance performance when running on a rough road surface at high speed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mechanochemically carbonated magnesium silicate which has a BET surface area within the range of 20 to 100 m2/g, preferably 30 to 80 m2/g, more preferably 40 to 70 m2/g, most preferably 45 to 65 m2/g and/or an amorphous content as determined by XRD of at least 30 wt. %, preferably at least 40 wt. %, more preferably at least 50 wt. %, even more preferably at least 60 wt. % a CO2 content of at least 3 wt. %. The invention further relates to methods of its production and uses thereof, for example as a filler in polymers. The compositions comprising the mechanochemically carbonated magnesium silicate and a polymer (such as a polyolefin) provide the benefits of being a CO2 negative material having excellent functional properties which can be used for a variety of purposes, for example as a component of clothing or apparel, or as a component of backpacks such as a buckle.

Abstract: Provided are a pneumatic tire in which balance between dry steering stability and low rolling resistance is improved while excellent on-ice performance and wet grip performance are maintained, and a rubber composition from which the tire is obtained. The rubber composition contains a rubber component containing a natural rubber and a modified styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber having a glass transition temperature of −50° C. or lower, a resin, a filler containing silica having a cetyltrimethylammonium bromide specific surface area of 190 m2/g or more, and an oil component. A content of the modified styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber in the rubber component is more than 50% by mass.
